This is nothing new. Every year we have WR binkies who are locks to be future stars. They almost always end up on the Practice Squad.

And posters want such youngsters instead of solid veterans like Osborn.

IMO, THREE youngster developmental potential stars is more than enough. Douglas is already one of top 3 WR's, along with Bourne and Osborn.

I know Javon Baker will be the Rookie of the year. I think Boutte is going to be a pleasant surprise.

I'd say David Wallis is a Beankie. Long shot of long shots (of long shots). His 20-40yd 1.79 is basically Tyreek Hill type top speed (1.78), even though he only has an 11.02 100m HS time to his name. Decent agility scores.

Late rounder DigDug is a no brainer, too. Polk and Javon were too highly picked for me to consider them Beankies, but obv I'm rooting for their success.

Great agility, I could see him developing into a slot receiver after some time in the league. He needs to get stronger.

I’m carrying over my binkie from last year, Demario Douglas. Van Pelt needs to find new and inventive ways to get the ball into his hands.

I still think Javon might become a better player than Polk. 4th round pick gets binkie status, not sure a 2nd rounder qualifies.

Both rookies are mine.

In other years WR Binkies were fringe roster players, hitting on one was like winning a scratch ticket. This year the farm depends on most of these young players carrying the load in real games. In many ways this is a great group to start from the ground floor with a new offense and a QB with the potential to be elite. Based on the recaps, all the WR have had their moments making good plays. Despite the different personalities all represented themselves in a way that made me believe that they are dedicated football players, including Bony T. With the notable exception of JJSS who sadly seems cooked physically. Let the competition begin, I can't remember looking forward to preseason gams, ever.

The bit in bold is very true because I think Maye will take a year or two longer to be a winner than a #1 WR will take to develop. Therefore acquiring a #1 a year or two after Maye is OK. I am thinking next year. The other WRs are potential #2s and #3s and the competition will be helpful. Whoever is the most successful we can sign long-term. Maybe I am over thinking it a bit, but the salaries are so NUTS now, it seems that staggering the high paid offensive guys, QB & WR, might be a good idea.

JJSS seems cooked - agreed. In one clip I saw he looked very slow. Having said that I am not a guy who wishes we kept J Myers. Jakobi is a #3 and no more, we need better #2s and #3s. I wish Myers all the best, great guy.

It would be great if Tyquan could salvage himself to be a deep ball threat, but otherwise limited, so we could keep him at a reasonable cost. I can't imagine Thornton will ever be close to a #1, but that is OK if he can fill the deep role at a reasonable price. We will see when the pads come on. The same applies to Reagor, but I will never trust Reagor's hands.

Agree here, binkies were usually late round draft picks or UDFA's. Not a lot of WR's that fall under that category.

Non WR's I like, UDFA's Zuri Henry at tackle and Azizi Hearn at CB... now I'm hoping Trysten Hill, Josiah Bronson or Sam Roberts can provide something at DT, with Barmore's illness one of them has to.

Reagor is mine. I think he's the new Tre Nixon, etc., who shows flashes in camp and fails to produce (outside of special teams) during the regular season.

Boutte, Thornton, Reagor

all are more likely to be gone than being a WR on the 53.

Baker was playing against 2nd and 3rd string Panther DBs and did not look great. Created zero separation on his long ball. Almost allowed an interception on his lazy crossing pattern. Did not look good.

I’m still liking Javon Baker. I think he will see the film and wake up and smell the coffee. At least I hope so.

Our WRs suck lmao

I'm feeling pretty darn good about this right about now.
If Wallis makes the team, it'll be on STs. If he doesn't, he should be on the PS (if he doesn't get poached).

I spoke about Boutte too give me some credit.
