If so, then conveniently, they can sweep all of the past under the rug and say that 11-11-in-postseason Manning has somehow, in their twisted logic, passed 18-8 Brady, that the 5-10 record of Peyton in head-to-head matchups is close enough to just call it "advantage Peyton" because of what happened last.
I hope that it backfires.
A New England win on Sunday and I don't think even Archie Manning would contend that Peyton Manning is above Tom Brady for their career accomplishments. It would be an impossible argument.
....That's what ESPN is hyping it as.
I mean, c'mon, the 'here and now' gets WAY overplayed in my opinion. Win or lose, are you really going to tell me that this game is more important than the two Super Bowls that he played in?
who cares?
I mean really, just who cares what the Extra Special Peyton Network thinks about anything.
If Brady wins this one and the Super Bowl, in my opinion, he should be the undisputed GOAT. To win a Super Bowl with a team that is so inferior talent-wise than any team in the playoffs is a tribute to him and BB.
If Peyton wins this and loses the Super Bowl. My opinion won't change. It wouldn't change if he won though.
If Peyton wins this and wins the Super Bowl, 99% of earth will coronate him forever. Which is some bs.

This could be the biggest game for Wes Welker. After all, to lose with the Pats with the highest scoring offense of all time and then to lose with the Donkeys and the new highest scoring offense of all time. That would be two pretty big disappointments.
Then again, you could spin that as "hey, wes welker was on the two highest scoring offenses of all time, he must be pretty darn good"
If Peyton win and then the Superbowl, i won't watch espn for weeks. Broncos fans will say he took Welker from Brady, broke his touchdown record, beat him in the AFC championship and then win the Super Bowl. They'll immediately crown him as the second coming of Christ.
