Nobody can single handedly make teams win. If the rest of the roster is crap, forget about it. It really doesnt matter if you have Peyton Manning. If you have completely garbage recievers, hows that gonna help?

That is what I'm trying to say. People say that Randy Moss made Culpepper blah blah blah. But Randy goes to Oakland and makes them a winner right? No, they won 4 games. So my point is Randy didn't make Culpepper the quarterback he was/is.

What????? WHO you callin' ******ed??? You callin' me ******ed????

425/ 1539.......over the five year period that Moss and Daunte were in Minny togheter (not including 1999 when Daunte didn't play), out of 1539 completions that Culpepper threw, 425 went to Moss, NOW SHUT UP!

Hmmmm.....less then a third of Dauntes completions were to Randy! Seems as though it thorws a wrench into the Moss is the only reason for Dauntes success theory, doesn't it? Just one of the many things ignored by rival fans when judging the talent of other teams.

you, my friend, are a moron

27% going to one reciever, are you too stupid to realize how high that is?

The only thing I need to know when it comes to Daunte Culpepper is that my dad's been the most hardcore fan you can be of the Minnesota Vikings for as long as I've been born, and he hated Culpepper. Like not just 'displeased', 'the happiest man in the world when Daunte went down and Johnson came in'. That's not based on any team bias, that's based on a complete lack of success. There you have it.

Oh, and I love the description it gives for the Pats:

Yes, the Pats lost some key players this offseason. But are you really ready to hand the AFC East to someone else with Brady and Belichick still at the wheel?

That's all they have to say, that we lost key players?? We lost our kicker who had nothing to do with our subpar season last year and we lost a linebacker from the best corps of linebackers in the league. I'm really getting tired of the image that we're still gonna need to be carried by Brady like we were last season.

Yeah, I can see where three Probowls a near MVP season 4717 yrds 39 TD's /11 Int's, and the highest completion % in NFL history could do that to a fan. Poor guy, your dad. Where did he find the strength to keep the sanity?!?!?!

Given the fact that we are talking about Randy Moss....are you???

Culpepper for President 2008

yes, folks yet another thread topic turned into "Culpepper is the 2nd comming of Christ" by the Miami fans. An upgrade at QB - most probably. But if I were a fins fan - I would rather have gotten Drew Brees. He scares me more. Plus he is younger. Both are recently injured and therefore a gamble. But my long term money is on Brees. Pats usually do fine against those 'dangerous' mobile QB's (Vick, McNab, McNair,) that give other teams problems. Yet, when we say that Brady IS the 2nd comming of christ, while thumping our chest- we are told it was only the system and anyone of a handful of QBs could have done the same. Talk about disrespect. Not very difficult to be SB MVP twice obviously. Interesting....(By the way - respect is earned on the field, not on paper. Most every Pats fan in these threads has conceeded a winning record to the Fins, is that disrespect? But it remains to be actually SEEN, how all the MANY fins changes translates to on the field performance. If you beat Pitt, you will have gained respect. We will just not give it away blindly.) You will probably be better this year (in Madden 2007 anyway)- but so should we. We also have some new 'toys' plus some key injured starters returning. Should be FUN!

The Vikings were easily my second favorite team in football, being in a different conference, and going against the teams I hate, Bears and Green Bay. I know lots of Vikings fans like I know lots of Pats fans. We all have the same impression of Culpepper. We all thought he was going to be great, and he never did anything against good defenses, and he never won on the road.

These trolls don't want a rational debate about anything, they are going crazy with joy and trying to talk us into rolling over and handing them the division, and in painboy's case, the superbowl, without ever playing a down.

And if we don't roll over for them, they shout their generic garbage about how we don't respect anything about them, over and over. At this point it is just tedious.

We have all universally said that the Dolphins will be better, but these trolls don't seem to get how silly they are, coming on here after stinking for years, and expecting us to pat them on their little head, and say 'That a' boy!' Just like a begging dog!

Three probowl appearances, 4717 39 TD's 11/ int's near MVP numbers, 64.4 career completion% the highest in NFL history and you struggle to see Dauntes value? Most of his career on a team with little Defense! Dolphins stinking for years??? One losing season in 16 years most of the lats decade with a top five D?? God you are the biggest uneducated homer on this site, you just want everyone to give the Pats everything while you crap on everyone else, do you realize how disrepectful you sound to everyone and everything but the Pats?? None of the Fins fans discredit the Pats, but you certainly discredit every team in the NFL, constantly giving the Tom Brady a verbal hum job, because you wouldn't understand the word team if it slapped you in the face. Your respect for the NFL as a whole is a joke. Why bother posting we know your routine Brady...Brady...Brady...Brady...Brady...Brady...
Brady...Brady ...Brady...Brady...!

Hey, the only one you left out was Brady.

Because you could go 100,00 yrds with a zillion TD's and still be mediocre if you drop the ball every other time you're hit. That's probably it. Either that, or the most rational man I know inexplicably hated the franchise quarterback of his team for no reason.

See, the problem with quoting stats out the wazoo for guys like Culpepper is that it just doesn't work. Some players are just like that, stats can be very misleading. Actually watching the games and seeing reality will paint you a very different picture. My question to you is simple: if Culpepper was all that good, why did the Vikes CLEARLY hit a winning streak and almost make the post-season when no-turnover Brad Johnson came in?

Maybe if you change your name to 'feel MY pain', we'd all feel sorry for you and roll over and concede the division, and apparently, the superbowl, in 'minicamp'!

Or Not!

First things first, I have never personally downed Brady. IMO it's a toss up of who's the best QB between Manning and Brady. But I'd have to say, I'd rather go into a conference championship with Brady over Manning any day.

As for the Brees vs. Culpepper situation. Brees had the same injury as Chad Pennington. Obviously Chad hasn't been the same since. The velocity on his throws have dropped dramatically and the out route has become an adventure. Brees could be a liablillaty for the rest of his career because he uses his arm so dang much. Culpepper only had a hurt knee which for a QB is much less important than the throwing arm.

If Brees was the guy Saban wanted, he would've got him. Brees wanted around $10 mil guarenteed. If we would have thrown that money at him, we would've had nothing left to rebuild the secondary, upgrade the oline, or get an other key free agents. Getting Culpepper for a 2nd was an absolute steal. Saban worked his mastery in this off-season and I wouldn't have had him do it any other way.

Or maybe just a little respect towards the fins, Us fin fans sure seem to have no problem giving the Pats respect and you won just one more game last year and no SB trophy. It's not like the Fins have done nothing to improve since Sabans arrival. To think, "yeah Miami will be alright.....but the Pats will dominate". is a fan that doesn't watch the game of football OR refuses to accept reality.
