ESPN: Manning > Brady?

I was watching today's game and the thing that struck me was glaring. Brady's arm, his accuracy, his ball spiral and his arm strength is far better than Peyton Manning's.

Manning is a hell of a quarterback but Brady is something else.

I agree ausbacker, but what is life going to be like without Brady vs Manning?
We are not even fans of your team and its bothersome. Brady and Manning have fought for a decade with mutual respect, honor, and hate. Your teams share a culture, that god forbid might end. Sometimes , my friends and I agree in N.O. we wish we never won that game, it seemed to suck the life from Manning.
Funny your in the moment work so hard, it means so much to you, to get what you want, and you never see who you hurt. We have been egotistic, happy, amazed, and blessed. and fools.

Who's going to challenge Brady and the patriots if Manning cant get over this?

Brady really is like the Terminator in a way. He's just so flawless when he wants to be, rarely makes big mistakes. I can't remember his last pick 6.

Manning is one of those QB's where you have to take the good w/ the bad. Shoots from the hip more....

well lets see, you want me to remind you of the first pick 6 he threw in his most recent game? or the 2nd pick 6 he threw in that same game???

PEYTON MANNING IS SOMETHING SPECIAL.....TOM BRADY IS SOMETHING ELSE

I guess they have not been watching the games this year.

I was talking about Brady w/ the pick 6 comment - I can't remember the last time HE threw one, not Manning.

Honestly, anyone who bothers to look can see Brady has better stats at this point. Manning has benefited from playing indoors his whole career with better receivers, and his passer rating is .6 points higher. Brady has a significantly better TD to INT ratio, and Brady will likely pass him in career averages by the end of the season. And MVPs in the next few.

There is no tangible argument for Manning over Brady, except that he's played 4 more seasons. Even a cursory glance should reveal that. With the next few years, I suspect the gap will only get wider. It's becoming clear that Manning's next contract will utterly cripple the Colts, while the Patriots are already among the very best teams in the league and trending upwards.

P.S:

Did anyone catch the NBC crew trying to flatter Peyton by saying this is only his third game with multiple picks returned for touchdowns? ONLY?! As if that's not a lot? Naturally, Brady has never had multiple picks returned for TDs in a single game.

For the record, we've been hearing THAT for years and years and years. Somehow they still manage to keep all their key guys. I'm not buying that one anymore.

I'll take Brady over Manning, personally, but more for intangibles. I'm 100% convinced Brady is a better leader for a team than any QB ever, pretty much.

Lol Pherein, your so insightful.
You should write a novel.

But Peyton Manning cannot hold a candle to future HOF pick leader Brett Favre

Manning is a hell of a quarterback but Brady is something else.

Watching The Red Zone, I actually thought that about every quarterback I saw -- they all suffered in comparison. Brady is just so mechanically crisp, other quarterbacks look like Pop Warner kids in comparison. There's just something about the way he steps in and throws a football.

Giselle, is that you?

How exactly does Manning deal with adversity so well?

Same coaches, Polian mortgages the team to keep his weapons. They spend 70% of the money on offense and most of the high draft picks.

Manning deals with "turnover"? Huh?

Ofcourse, Manning deals with injuries. We know about it because that's the excuse every mediot constantly harps to excuse 3/4 pick performances in big games.

I have no problem with them taking Manning but maybe some reality in the rationale might help.

Were we to be a wildcard this year I'd rather play outside in KC than indoors at the Colts barn

I think it's a wash. As the Chiefs get better, and if they make the playoffs, Arrowhead is going to renew its place as a nightmare for visitors.

Good point. They've always had quite a few huge contracts going at once. Freeney, Harrison, Sanders, and Clark have all been given contracts that upon their signature were the highest of all time for their positions. But with all the CBA issues, and rumors that Manning will be looking for 30 mil a year, I thought I would permit myself some wishful thinking.

To Manning's credit, all this ill will I wish upon him speaks very highly of how much I respect him as an enemy.

THE SANCHIZE!!!!!!!!!!

Hee..heee... Couldn't help myself

Already is a very tough place to play

Nikolai, you have a PM.

It amazes me that people still waste time hair splitting between the two.

Maybe Manning is a little better... Maybe Brady is... But it's not by much on either side.

You can make a strong case for either guy. Who cares who is remembered as the better QB?

3-1 that's all that should matter to us.

Yeah, they were saying Brady has the best technical form of a pocket passer, they said it was near perfect, as opposed to Manning's slightly unorthodox form, and Rivers wacky sidearm push/throw.
