I think there are dark days in our not too distant future

What bothers me is that the Pats dealt Brissett, then dealt Garoppolo and have Phillip Dorset and a 2nd rounder to show for it while they have a 40 year old QB

I think there a decent chance that Kraft went against B.B. for non football reasons, and if so, I think B.B. going to quit after this year. I also think that McDaniels will leave since garoppolo was his work of art and don’t think he’d be interested in coaching a 41 year old Brady and dealing with the arguments on the sideline.

I hope it’s not true, but that’s what it’s starting to smell like

It will be interesting to hear Brady when he get drilled at the next presser
It’s sad that the Garoppolites respond to being wrong by wishing doom on the franchise.

Does it have to be stated? BB called Kraft. Kraft thought about it spoke to his son about and got back to BB.
He didn’t ask his opinion. He told him he had a trade agreed upon and wanted it signed off. That’s how it works.

Here's another post to this gargantuan soap-operatic thread. (Left to right): BB's mother, Garoppolo's cousin, Kraft's daughter-in-law, Brady's sister.

So trolling it is. Guess we found another user to remove from the thread..
There is an easier way

This whole rotten mess is something I wouldn’t wish on a one eyed ferret with mange. Now, I understand kraft would downplay this in any case but he went a big step further and basically says it’s fiction. I’m willing to believe him over Wickersham.

I guess what’s killing me is I can’t fathom why, after the agony and the egg on the faces of ESPN after defame gate, why would they do this again? There’s zero credibility to anything they say ever again. I honestly loathe them

He wanted Kraft to sign off on it.....how is that not the same as asking his opinion?

OK so BB didn't care about his opinion on it just if he was allowed to do it. Is that what your getting at?

BB wanted to do something and called Kraft before doing it. And this is just for a back up. I think my point remains that BB knows he would have to call Kraft on any Brady matters. So the media idea that BB would quit if Kraft got involved is ridiculous.

It gets them publicity. They don’t care if it’s true. ESPN is the national enquirer of the sports world.

Not ideal but the team needed a WR3 in TC and in no way were going to pay Tom and Jimmy a combined $47m in cap space for 2018.

So you believe Bob forced Bill to trade Jimmy? Thats not what Bob told Peter King and Curren, Reiss and Howe substantiate that claim.

I also think that McDaniels will leave since garoppolo was his work of art and don’t think he’d be interested in coaching a 41 year old Brady and dealing with the arguments on the sideline.

He was interested when he was 39. He had the SF job for the taking and declined. If Josh leaves he will have landed a job that he feels is right for him and his family and not because he has become disinterested in coaching Tom.

Of course it smells like the end. Tom is 40. Bill is 65. It will end....but not yet.

You know Tom will give the press nothing,

He asked Kraft to sign off on it.....how is that not the same as asking his opinion?

OK so BB didn't care about his thoughts on it just if he was allowed to do it. Is that what your getting at?

Because BB had the entire thing done and just needed Krafts signature on the trade. Asking for opinion would have been to actually involve Kraft in the process of the trade before negotiating the entire thing.

No.
Kraft owns the team. When B.B. makes a trade he gets krafts approval. That doesn’t mean he asks his opinion, which implies he is indecisive and wants kraft to tell him what to do.
I would imagine that B.B. has never made a trade without informing kraft and getting his ok and that kraft has never said no.

I don't consider these people to be real fans, not at all. It is one thing to believe and express that trading Garropolo was a mistake. It is another entirely to be satisfied watching all this BS unfold solely through the desire to be 'correct'.

It is hard to believe I could experience something more satisfying than victories in SB49 and 51 but winning it again this year would be phenomenal.

Given that people are saying Kraft ordered Belichick to trade Garrapolo, on Brady’s orders, it does matter. I think Belichick discusses what he’s doing with Kraft but I don’t think he’s asking his opinion on trades or draft decisions. I think he would discuss where they are at on contracts and decisions he’s making but the decisions are his. I think the Kraft’s are aware that he’s trading Bledsoe, Milloy, Seymour, Moss, Mankins etc...., but I don’t think he needs their approval or consent to make any trade. And if Kraft did try to tell him he could couldn't make a trade I think Belichick would follow his instructions and follow them up with a short note to them informing them that “I, Bill Belichick, will no longer be the HC of the NEP.”

Kraft told King he was “taken aback” by the JG trade. That he thought it would be dealt with at the end of the year and BB then called him with the proposed deal.

I don’t understand how brissett is even part of this conversation.
He was never going to a good backup here and his play in Indy this year showed that.

OK I'm not getting in a debate over this little point. If you want to think Kraft has no say on his team and BB cares nothing about his bosses opinions thats fine by me.

Right because that’s what anyone said.

No one said Belichick would resign if Kraft got involved, everyone has said that Belichick will resign if Kraft told him how to construct his team.

I'm sure those two have a very good understanding of what needs to be discussed and what does not.

For example Bill is not going to ask Bob for approval to pick up Eric Lee or James Harrison off waivers or sign Trevor Reilly to the PS. Maybe he might send him a text or an email to tell him but clearly that kind of move is not the same magnitude of trading Jimmy.

Bob (and Jonathan) would not be responsible owners if the gave BB complete autonomy.

Kraft has said that he does not need to be involved - but informed.

There needs to be some checks and balances.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with the line of communication between Bill, Bob and Jonathan
