Absolutely disgusting what Zolak and Bertrand are doing to give this article credibility.

For example they give credibility to the "meeting lasting half a day affecting other meetings" and say it's true because Zolak in the past has had stuff with Belichick delayed or cancelled.

How does that confirm that meeting happened? It doesn't confirm anything except Belichick has come late or cancelled meetings with Zolak. Which is most likely that coaches review he does with Zolak which Belichick probably thinks is a waste of his time and would rather be preparing for the next game instead of talking about the last game.

So laughable.

Witnesing the deaththroughs of bspn? The failing bspn is trying to stir up clicks with its annual sht stirring surrounding the pats and the super bowl. I'mm surprised they put this out so early in the tournament and not closer to an actual game.

Maybe in the midst of trying to create football-related drama, they forgot the Pats don't play until NEXT Saturday.

He "made every effort", but he didn't actually offer him a contract so, despite Giardi's claim, he didn't actually make every effort. I don't see that as reading too much into what Giardi wrote, but your mileage may (obviously) vary.

In the meantime, others are saying no contract was offered, and Wickersham is saying that JAG and his agent were declining offers.

Offers
"Well, offers, but not really offers"
No offers

They can't be reconciled, and Giardi needs to take a valium.
What Wickersham wrote seems pretty specific: "The Patriots repeatedly offered Garoppolo four-year contract extensions, in the $17 million to $18 million range annually that would go higher if and when he succeeded Brady." This begs further context, though -- attribution foremost, and specifics on why Garoppolo/Yee balked. In light of this, and assuming other assertions in the article are true, it seems plausible that BB might've expressed to Kraft intention to move Brady after this season and continue on with JG.

I could write a similar article on any ****ing company that has success.

Every company has drama, every highly successful person has a huge ego, every highly successful team of highly successful people sees egos clash and each crisis looks like it could be a breaking point. It is how you handle these crisis that make you successful. BB, Kraft and Brady have proven time and time again that nobody could handle crisis better than them.

We will be fine, the trio will stay together 2 or 3 more years and then we will rebuild. I am at peace with that.

Wait, Wickersham now claims to have some knowledge of the team’s private evaluations of Tom Brady? Come on!

Yeah, so they want us to believe the super secretive Pats have a Niagara Falls sized leak they don't know about or that they willingly let BSPN shills around the team to ask so many questions. Ok...

On other BSPN-worthy "news" ...

Aaron Rodgers is rumored to be dating Dania Patrick. The speculation is that she likes the way he handled that pickup truck in his recent insurance commercial.

(personally, I thought the dog was the best part)

Wait, Wickersham now claims to have some knowledge of the team’s private evaluations of Tom Brady? Come on!

I am betting my ass off that those "private" evaluations are from a team film review session where BB tore up Brady in front of a couple dozen people. Most probably after the Miami game.

The only real story here is Alex G.

Not sure if this was in the article but wickersham was on ESPN and said Jimmy G went to TB12 sports to treat his injured shoulder last year and they refused, presumably because Tom felt threatened.

What I hate more than all this is everyone is looking at the JG trade as if we made it after he played all these games in SF. The feeling about what we could get for JG was very different before he was traded. We went through an off season with the 1.5 games under his belt and nothing happened. So we got what we thought we could get.

Let's hope bill gets our future QB in this draft. I have no doubts that brady can play well enough the next two years after this one. I wouldn't bet against him.

It was and it's BS.

It was.

So I read the entire thing. I didn't find it to have anything that new other than the half day meeting where Bellicheck was ordered to trade Jimmy by Kraft. If this is true then I imagine this is Bellichecks last season. I don't think he would stand for being told what to do by any owner. And if forced would move on when it makes sense. He wouldn't do it now. But after the season if this is true. I really don't see Kraft forcing him to trade Jimmy. But some things surprise me from time to time. Pretty sad if true.

There are legitimate reasons to use unnamed sources. I don't think any of these people are worth defending as people, and speculating on who they are or what they do is useless. None of us know Belichick or Brady from Adam, though most of this thread seems to think they know both intimately. All that matters is what goes down for a few hours every Sunday.

Using an unnamed source to help validate a story is one thing, using solely unnamed sources another altogether. Once again ESPN is using a witches brew of unnamed sources and series of anecdotes taken out of context to try and smear Belichick, Brady, Kraft, and the Patriots on the eve of a playoff run. It’s deliberate, it’s clickbait, and it’s purpose is to use the Patriots to try and shore up their failing network. None of it has been validated in any way and Belichick dismisses it out of hand as garbage, yet their is a contingency of Patriot fans who as always join their legion of haters in rejoicing at every attempt to try and drag them down.

Feel free to show us the good journalism in this story?
