Blimey I thought it would go to a second rounder with Kline removed from the deal.

Also, I'm worried about being part of a scheme to trade a player when the Eagles didn't officially own said player to trade.

If we could make it Rowe for a 4th and then move Kline separately for a 7th that would be greeeat.

I think they can truly get a 7th for him. He's really not that bad.

I think Ryan leaves because he will fetch way more then we are willing to pay him. Honestly I think its the best case scenario for this team. Hopefully he plays amazing this year, (we win SB51) and Bill puts him in a situation (safety help a lot) to put up deceiving numbers, and then some stupid team gives him a ridiculous contract. When I look at the list of 2017 FA CB's to be, I could easily see him being the top FA Corner available.

With the amount of potential one year rentals we have (Cooper, Mingo) and pending FA's, along with solid depth on the roster, I highly doubt we bring in as many FA as we may lose.

Really? With the number of 1 year rentals and Pending Free Agents, you doubt that the Pats will bring in as many or more than they lose? Just the fact that it's 17 players who are free agents says that they are going to have to sign free agents unless you really expect Belichick to go with 17 rookie/1st year players..

UFA Next year:
Collins, Hightower, Butler, Ryan, Mingo, Cooper, Harmon, Cannon, Vollmer, Sheard, Bennett, Branch, Ninkovich, Long, Blount, Develin, Fleming.

It doesn't matter if another team give Ryan a ridiculous contract. The Pats will only get a pick if they lose more than they sign. That's how Comp Picks work.

Good point, easily forgotten.

Meanwhile other tweets were claiming that the Eagles were already working on a deal to trade Kline for yet another pick.

IOW...who the heck knows?

Always nice to add size to the CBs.

Less than 4 days ago, Adam Caplan tweeted that Philly might be willing to take a 5th- or even a 6th-rounder for Rowe; yet there goes Bill again, over-paying for players already one foot out the door of
their former team.

So now Bill, where the FECK is our help at outside-the-hashes, keep-Safeties-honest WR, between-the-Tackles RB, backup LT, backup LG, and Cannonfodder/Phlegming replacements?

What part of "MIGHT" be willing to take don't you understand? It's pure speculation. Not only that, you discount the fact that the pick won't be sent to Philly until 2018.

The fact that you insist on such ridiculous rants shows how many screws you don't have.

That's probably why they came back to the Pats to tell them that they didn't want Kline anymore. Because they couldn't turn around and trade him..

Kline is back. That means we still need 7 more for a minion. I was so hoping we could get Braverman on the PS

I know. I was siding with you. What Im saying is, your actual height can be very deceiving. If you have a great vert and long arms, its essentially no different then being 1-3 inches taller. Basically I'm saying people get lost in actual height sometimes
Sorry. The posts are flying fast n furious.

I agree in general hes a liability, but if kline wash garbage what was cannon?

Kline was injured as well. Not sure on the specifics, but he was injured against Philadelphia and had to have shoulder surgery in the off-season.

Pats transactions this year have been weird as heck. Stork, Vereen, and now Kline. So bizarre.

Right. You had a guy who retired, then didn't retire, then released. A player traded, failed physical, came back, waived and a respected player traded, returned and I assume released at some point.

Strange indeed.
