Yeah, this is sort of your 'worst case' footage and even then he doesn't look TOO bad. I know a lot of people are speculating he will be moved to safety, but I'm not convinced of that.

That was worst case. He was right there and they were great throws.

There was another play where he played off him on a 1st down where the coverage seemingly should have been tighter.

By my god. He was a rookie on a crappy team going against an elite receiver. I'm cutting him some slack.

4th rounder is quite a lot. Bill, Caserio, etc. must expect him to be a big contributor

We have him cheap for 3 years for many a 4th or 3rd round pick which is what we would get for him anyway had he drafted him in the 2nd in the 2015 draft. The only thing we missed was the rookie year which is usually not that good anyway so i think it is fair to give up a 3rd or 4th (as opposed to a 2nd) to miss 1 year which is usually the least productive year.

But are Cooper and Mason currently healthy enough?

Hi.

This is Bill Belichick...grunt...ugh....I'm not a doctor. When they are cleared medically we'll make a decision on them. I'll make sure you are the first to know when the injury report is released.

Of course better coverage ability is more important than height.

With that said, if the coverage ability is the same, I'll take the guy who is taller.
Depends because there are zero cases of civer age ability being the same. Taller corners tend to struggle with certain things that are different than what typical sized corners do. That's why you don't see a lot of talk corners. The skill set required to cover makes it harder for a talker guy to do all things equal.
There just aren't many plays in a football game, or season for that matter that an inch 2 higher reach is the difference in a play being made or not.
Same with WRs, height is just a very overrated feature.

I think Mason and Cooper have both played some C as well.

Mason was "projected" as a Center and practiced some, but never saw actual game snaps there while in college. He's been at Guard for all game snaps that I know of with the Patriots.

Cooper was taking practice snaps at Center for AZ last year. Also took some with the Pats..

Yep. Was reading at the Sr. Bowl Shaq was practicing at C.

The defense, while looking very good, was still susceptible to the high throw to a tall receiver. They don't want more Chris Matthews moments. This may close that potential weakness.

Except Pats don't have a '17 4th. Was stolen from them by ****dell

Yeah. He clarifies that later. But the 4th will probably be a 3rd if Rowe plays enough snaps which is possible.

Always nice to add size to the CBs.

Less than 4 days ago, Adam Caplan tweeted that Philly might be willing to take a 5th- or even a 6th-rounder for Rowe; yet there goes Bill again, over-paying for players already one foot out the door of
their former team.

So now Bill, where the FECK is our help at outside-the-hashes, keep-Safeties-honest WR, between-the-Tackles RB, backup LT, backup LG, and Cannonfodder/Phlegming replacements?

Looks like Death Rowe has some skills, particularly in press coverage. He seemed to have a really strong game against NE last year, and I guess BB saw something.

Technically we have two (ours and Seattle's) and lose the higher one. Not sure Rich is correct on this, though, I would be surprised if we couldn't trade the Seattle #4 - and lose ours. Don't think the reverse is doable, though, trading ours as Seattle's could be lower.

Rowe played pretty well when thrust into a starting role last season. A 4th in the 2018 draft isn't too much to pay, I suspect it will only become a 3rd if he starts quite a few games. Kline is garbage and I'm glad he's gone.
Whne kline stepped in last year he played well but other than that hes a jag. His play was inconsistant at best. Sometimes he'd play well but most of the time he wasn't very good.

On top of being on a losy team how good was his coaching? I'm sure he'll learn a lot more here.

Please tell me this wasn't written seriously

I like the size and the athleticism. Hopefully some teaching can go on and he can get the Eagle stench off of him.

Guessing their was competition for Rowes Services me thinks

On top of that, there is the one-year discounting factor that NFL team execs tend to use. That is to say, NFL GMs tend to view a 2018 4th round pick as equivalent to a 2017 5th round pick. So Belichick paid the 5th round pick price.

(This was seen explicitly in the Richard Seymour trade, where Al Davis gave Belichick the choice of a 2nd round pick in 2010 or a 1st rounder in 2011, and Belichick took the latter which was used to draft Nate Solder.)

I don't know he doesn't look all that scary to me. i think i could cover him.
