Emotionally crushed

Thats the way i felt after the last SB loss to the Giants, it ruined me as a sports fan. This game wasn't so bad for me because i never allowed myself to get emotionally involved anymore. After that loss i became numb. Plus i never thought the team would make the SB, the way things have been going i considered winning a play off game as a successful season.

That game ruined me too, I almost died, to this day, I think I might have had a stroke during that game. I changed my outlook on sports since that game, I couldn't do it anymore.

When you consider how bad the D was back in sep, oct, and part of nov just making the SB was pretty good.

yes..but once there...no matter how good or how bad..you have a chance..and pats have a great chance they blew..sucks but it is what it is...we all knew they would make playoffs...i had them losing AFC champ game beginning of year..didn't expect them in SB..but once there..you want a win..and bad

As exhillarating the Pats 3 Super Bowls were, these 2 loses to the Giants are such a punch in the gut I don't remember the joy of those Super Bowl wins.

The tough thing for me, is that its not only me, but my teenager daughter. She is still crying her eyes out, and is inconsolable. I sort of feel guilty for turning her into a Pat fan. She wouldn't have to go through the heartache I am feeling.

Its unfortanate she was too young to enjoy the Super Bowl wins, now she only remembers the loses. I really pray she gets to experience a Super Bowl win, but I am starting to lose hope.

Early Feb SB's are always tough for me.....my dad passed away unexpectedly from complications the early morning Monday after Pats lost to Packers. I was in my mid 20's then, spoke to him over the phone and went off to friends watch the Pats/Pack SB game. After a tough loss to Pack, got that dreaded call and news...Eversince then, SB sunday in Feb is always a tough one to deal emotionally, but wins early in the decade certainly helped ease the pain with some positive distraction. The last 2 painful losses ofcourse just make it tough.

Brady clearly has some psychological issue that he needs to overcome in these big games. He simply doesn't look like himself. I suspect it is likely over-preparation, where he's too busy THINKING and not reacting.

I was mentioning this to my father-in-law watching the game. He just doesn't have that look he had from 2001-2006. I don't know how to explain it, but he is apparently a better QB because of his stats and awards, but with the game on the line he's not the same guy. I hate to say it, but the only way this team even sniffs another SB is with a smashmouth defense and I don't have much hope for that happening. Oh well, it's been a fun ride while it lasted.

I am upset but I prepared myself for this already. This sounds dumb but I got my mourning out of my system two weeks ago after the Giants made the superbowl. I was in a foul mood for about 4 days because I knew the pats were not winning the game.

Worst thing is this was the chance at redemption for that game. It was almost like destiny but that's the cruel world of pro sports Has to be a loser and the Giants just made a few extra plays

I am sorry about this. I have to admit after 2007 SB I had to have a talk with myself about what it meant to me as I took it too hard. I wish you the best.

After 2007 SB I had to have a talk with myself about what it meant to me as I took it hard. It was out of proportion. If they won or lost I gained or lost nothing personally. I can now enjoy the games and when days like this come it does not hit me nearly as hard. My emotions should belong to my family and not be controlled by millionaires playing for billionaires. If you are taking this too hard please step back and watch this.

3 things.

You need a bit of luck to win one.
We will be back in 2/3 years.
Thank God we not the Bills. Lost 4 in a row and never won any.

This. You guys are lucky to not be Vikings or Bills fans. Because they have it rough. Minnesota has lost pretty much every big game they have ever been in, and most of them in 07' like depressing fashion. The Bills lost four in a row.

The Pats have been in 5 since 01'. They have won 3 of those. My god that's impressive.

I wish I could think that way. To me if they win a I gain a great memory. I will never forget how great it was in 01 when they won the SB. I will never forget the feeling I had watching game 6 of the celtics game with my dad when they beat la. I am not going to say I was robbed a memory because that is too strong. I feel like I lost out on something I could carry with me forever.

The worst part is simply their chance to say, they are the greatest of all time. 07 would have done it and tonight would have too with 4 wins in 11 years with 5 trips.

I just want to see that one last ring before they ride off into the sunset.
