Edelman Leaves Field, Apparent Foot Injury

YEAH, great news

He continues to have problems with his surgically repaired foot and we haven't even played a pre season game.

NOTHING TO SEE HERE

They do tests fast apparently.

keep him out for preseason.

while they are at that, "suspend" him for the first 4 games, w/pay, and a hotel room near brady's house

Similar news from Curran:
FOXBORO -- The injury sustained by Julian Edelman to his surgically repared left foot Tuesday morning is not believed to be serious, according to a source.
...
Edelman's return to the practice field came well before a receiver with a similar injury and two surgeries -- the Dallas Cowboys' Dez Bryant -- returned from his broken foot.

While the initial optimisnm is that Edelman should be okay, whether that means okay for training camp or okay for the regular season is clearly not yet known. Additionally, in so many instances an injured player needs about 24 hours to let the area settle before doctors can ascertain the condition.

Why would they have him out there practicing if his foot is anything less than 100%? I sure hope he just happened to suffer an unrelated injury to the same foot, because the alternative suggests questionable judgment all around. Maybe the muscles in his foot are weak from disuse over the past few months, maybe it's just a bruise, etc.

The kind of foot injury that Edelman had can result in it taking more than a year before the foot gets back to 100%. It's one of the reasons I rail about not rushing players back from these foot injuries. It's better to miss them for an extra 2-3 weeks than to miss them for months on the back end.

You do understand that a 'tweak' can be anything from a muscle strain to a re-break, and isn't necessarily anything particularly bad, right?

Brady went to the locker room under his own power. I can remember watching him walk down the stairs and thinking he'd be ok only to have them announce that his ACL was torn..

That might be true but I'm 100 percent sure he had assistance off of the field

This better not be another damn year filled with injuries.

Seems like they're coming early this year. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing, although I guess it depends on the severity.

It could either be something that heals before the season begins and they're fine for the year. Or it could linger throughout the entire season and the player may never play a single game near 100%.

I took it to mean that Brady was helped to the locker room TODAY, not in 2008.
Yeah my bad on that I should've quoted that post from the first page. I wasn't even thinking that people might get the wrong idea

Good news for Edelman. Hopefully Nink hasn't torn his triceps.

Same thing we're seeing with Dez. This is a stubborn injury. Clean up? I always thought that was bs. I was excited yesterday, but only cautiously. I deep down worried about just this type of thing.

Nice spin. Since you can no longer LOL at all the fanboys who didn't instantly conclude that Edelman's season was over, start acting like we're all expecting him back at practice tomorrow.

I'm going to f*cking lose it if Ninko is lost for the season. Word is he was shaking his head in disgust. It's almost never good when a player is so demonstrative after being injured. They usually have a sense about their own injury.

Why change it? I thought this was a thread all about wrong ideas.

Remember when Gronk took that hit to his knee last year and was writhing on the ground and was clearly done for the year if not the career and then missed one game?
