So, I caught some of Duron Harmon's comments and liked what I heard..

Duron Harmon Conference Call Transcript 3/17

Why returning to New England wasn’t a hard decision for Duron Harmon

“It was a good process,” Harmon said of his first time as a free agent. “Coming back to New England, that’s ultimately what I wanted to do. I love it here. I’ve built a lot of relationships here with people outside of football. My kids go to school here. Just being a part of this organization, it means a lot to me.

“I really love playing for this organization. I love playing for coach (Bill) Belichick. I love being a part of Mr. (Robert) Kraft’s team. In the end, just coming back here really wasn’t a hard decision. It was something that I ultimately wanted to do.”

"That’s one of the reasons why I wanted to come back, they know how to use me,” Harmon said. “They know how to really get the best out of me and I want to continue to grow being a part of this defense.”

One point I did find interesting was that he planned to put on weight.. To get to 206/207.. His Combine weight was 196.. Pats have him listed at 205.. Makes me believe he's been playing closer to his Combine weight than the listed weight..

My tackling could be a little bit more aggressive and I think that’s going to come with putting on a little bit more weight, being able to bang down there.

...

Yeah, like I said, I will maybe try to put on a few pounds just to see how it is. I’ll try it out maybe in OTAs and minicamp and just see how I feel, and how I like moving around a little heavier; maybe like 207, 208.

Not a comment about Brady or Butler. Does he have inside knowledge that both will be delt?

Actually, he does mention Butler during the interview.. I didn't quote it because we're limited to what we can quote..

I think it was huge to get him back. He is one hell of a deep third of the field safety. With good range and a knack for the ball. But the real key is having him and Chung as it allows for a ton of versatility and keeps Chung out of the deep third.

I really think our trio of safeties is the back bone of our D. It was huge to keep it intact.

From what Harmon said about Butler, it sounds like he is a goner!

I believe our 3 safeties are all tied up and that is a massive advantage. Brain trust and flexibility. Could make the difference in clutch situations/game plan shifts.

Harmon was one FA I had penciled in as 100% gone. I consider him an upgrade to quite a few starters I see around the league, and I expected another team to pay him accordingly. Welcoming him back is a very, very happy surprise.

McCourty, Harmon and Chung.......One hellova back end....

Kinda like Dewey, Screwum and Howe ....

Here is what Harmon said :
As far as Malcolm [Butler] man, I love Malcolm. I love being his teammate, what he brings to the football field, what he brings to the locker room. I would love being his teammate but, you know, this is a business more than anything. I know that people have got to do what’s best for them, so I’m just rooting on him that he gets to do whatever he feels is best for him

Sorry, but I just don't see how you believe that is Harmon saying that Butler is a goner. To me, he's just acknowledging that part of the business and saying "What happens, happens".

Book it.. Butler stays
