I kept waiting for it to sink in...

And then, a few weeks ago, it hit me: That is just too much to absorb.

I've been on a High, ever since...

And I don't believe that the Universe will ever seem the same.

The greatest Coach of All Time and the greatest QuarterBack of All Time have led the greatest Dynasty of All Time into the Super Bowl...and yet are getting plastered.

...And not in a good way.

And then we mount the most epic ComeBack Victory in Super Bowl History!!

A ComeBack Victory Light Years beyond any previous ComeBack Victory.

A ComeBack Victory that dwarfs all previous ComeBack Victories.

What was it that somebody said in that awesome Video ~ awesome despite the presence of that vile, thieving, parasitical, disloyal ScumBag, Dennis Leary ~ about the RedSox that culminated ~ after editing!! ~ with the indescribably awesome 2004 Season?

If it'd been a Movie, it would've been a bad Movie...

Why? Because the Plot was flat out ridiculous.

I also sometimes struggle with comprehending how incredible of a comeback it was.

Everything had to go perfect and the fact it did is just crazy!

The day after SB LI when I woke up, had to really think was it a dream or did I witness the greatest comeback of all time???..

Even now it seems somewhat surreal.. this stuff is not supposed to happen in the NFL..

Scoring 31 points in 21 minutes is unheard of in the NFL, even grander considering that it took place in the SB.

I was a little bit "bombed" no pun intended by the time the comeback was occurring... so I was just excited and drunk and screaming and yelling, .... but the shocking part of how a comeback like that could actually occur came after sober subsequent viewings. :)

EDIT: Though I was bombed, I sort of resigned we were just not going to get this one while it was happening.. I am just glad I did not make the decision to turn it off and hung in, though I honestly was not hanging in at 28-3 with the hope of a comeback. When it happened I was just drunk enough to really just enjoy watching them make plays.. Don't get me wrong I knew it was ridiculous that we were coming back and maybe will all the way.. But it was not until the many re-watches that it really struck me what happened. A good example was the way the Falcons sort of screwed up the FG stuff late on our 20,... I was too drunk to think that way. To me our D was just making sick plays.. lol

This thread is perfectly timed. Like you, Grid, I'm still trying to fully feel it, and a few months later it is still orbiting, not having fully landed. The experience is like a positive post traumatic shock. There's just too much to absorb all at once, and it is too far outside of what I could have imagined as possible to hold in my brain. It should be listed in the DSM, if only it listed positive life experiences.

I've rewatched this 41 minute you tube version so, so many times. It only has 1.4 mil views so I don't understand why the rest of you are not watching it. It's a good thing I don't have a smart phone because I'd be killed crossing a street while watching it.

What really blew my mind was the two, 2 pt conversions in a row. As it was unfolding that was the one thing I thought very nearly impossible. The second one was under a minute, they make it, game tied, they don't, game over.

I have never thought I will witness such a big comeback let alone in the playoffs, in the Super Bowl! I thought nothing will ever be comparable to the Colts comeback I have witnessed in 2003 against Tampa (28-7 deficit in 4th quarter). This is amazing that Brady has acomplished this, beating each and every record that Manning had set. Great time to be a football fan these days :)

The amazing part of the comeback was the players reaction. They never lost faith in their abilities. They didn't panic they did their job . I don't think any other team could have pulled off that comeback. BB has that team prepared and ready to play. He was so calm during that game it reassured the players that they were never truly out of the game.

I enjoy watching it from the 2nd quarter onward. The lows of that quarter really help set the stage in appreciating everything that came after. Some big plays:

- Right after the pick 6, Vic Beasley made his only play of the game: He hit Brady just as he was releasing a pass to a crossing Bennett. The ball popped into the air with a Falcon safety settling under it for an easy pick and maybe back to back TDs. Bennett hustled to snag the ball and get a first down. Screw 28-3 in the 3rd...we were looking at 28-0 before halftime if it wasnt for Bennett.

- Between the Blount fumble and pick 6, it looked like the Pats were killing themselves on Atlanta's side of the field. After escaping doom on the almost pick above, the Pats continued that trend with the Bennett hold and subsequent dumb Bennett screen, leading to just a FG. The inability to finish drives in the 2nd quarter was such a stark contrast to the 4th quarter and OT. It's fascinating to rewatch.

Regards,
Chris

It's great and to think we spoiled an incredible Falcons story........

I mean just think, obviously everyone wants to win a championship, but through 2.5 games in the playoffs the Falcons were on there way to doing so and EARNING incredible style points in doing so.

What do I mean by that?

Well, not only were they winning, but they were dominating elite quarterbacks Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, and Tom Brady.

But then Brady went and spoiled everything for them. They did not get their storybook ending.

Even when I re-watch the game, which I have MANY times, I don't think they can possibly win until it gets to OT.

Sometimes, I think the coin flip will go the other way...even though I said to my kid at the time, "They're gonna win the toss and take the ball right down the field."

I also sometimes struggle with comprehending how incredible of a comeback it was.

Everything had to go perfect and the fact it did is just crazy!

Even more remarkable is that it actually didn't. They finally get the TD promptly doink the XP. They get a terrific 3rd down conversion to Bennett and two sacks later they only get 3 out of it. An outstanding KO is wiped out immediately with a single blown coverage. And despite having all the momentum to start the tying possessio, the first play is nearly a sack and an interception.

That they just kept coming despite the already long odds and the unfortunate plays is truly impressive.
