I wouldn’t either.
Lamar , mahomes, allen have at most 5 years of prime play left. Stafford has less.
Burrow can’t stay healthy.
Herbert and Love? Somewhat close but im taking Drake without a lot of thought
You can see what he can do when he has solid OL play. The OL gave him so nice pockets to throw in and he gives us a preview of how he can carve teams up.
Hide your FA's NFL, because the Pats will have money to spend and a QB players will attract.
I can’t believe I get to watch Drake Maye lead the Patriots for the next 15+ years. Brady went by fast, so going to savor every moment. Thus far, what would you say he is good to elite at and where are improvements needed?
My opinion.
Strengths:
Arm talent
Mobility
Leadership
Deep balls
Improving upon weaknesses on a weekly basis
Weaknesses:
Not reacting to pressure fast enough in the pocket (IE not dumping it off quickly or side sweeping a rusher like TB used too)
Turnovers/trying too much at times
That's why we know Maye have the Potential to be Great. He doesn't have anything close to what Brady had: ok maybe Diggs huge drop-off after that. Maye Needs a Young TE and a Young #1 WR 6-2 and up to truly unlock him.I can’t believe I get to watch Drake Maye lead the Patriots for the next 15+ years. He still needs improvement on diagnosing the defenses, which is just something that comes the more he sees defenses. That said he is really good at it, but he does get fooled, as all QBs do but will be fooled less as time goes on.
Brady was well into his career when he said that he finally felt like he had all the answers to the test.
Brady release was so quick because he knew who would be open pre snap, also helped the talent could get open quick
If they somehow get anywhere close to Moss,Welker,Gronk, Edelman etc. weapons Maye will break records.
His play style is so much fun to watch on top of everything else.
scottstraDamus are you scouting WR's and TE's in the 2026 Draft: we need one of each.I don’t care about statistics with Drake Maye, all I care about is him playing really well as well as winning. Despite my not caring about the statistical side, it’s so damned impressive that he’s top 5 in almost every category, all in just his 2nd year. The most impressive to me is his completion percentage (1st), despite not being a dink & dunk passer, he’s tied for number 1 in yards per attempt as well. Just so impressive.
Wow, thanks for the compliment ! Yes I’ve been watching several in each position during the college season. There’s some GREAT threads on both positions in the Draft board. I agree, I’d like to see the Pats draft either a big, fast receiver and or a big pass catching TE prior to round 3, though there have been some really good NFL TEs drafted after round 3. For instance, I really like Georgia TE Oscar Delp, probably will be available in round 3 or later, not the TOP TE available, but I like his combo of size & speed.scottstraDamus are you scouting WR's and TE's in the 2026 Draft: we need one of each.
