This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

Nah Josh is done as a head coach imo. If you leave twice and your players are glad you’re gone both times that’s not a great sign for your future in that role.

He would be a fool to pursue any HC ever again

Stick to what works Josh

All the raiders, Broncos $$$ he still has.... He was saying last week that he's comfortable and his family is comfortable living in Westwood.. something tells me he doesn't have to shop at frugal fannies on rt 1...

Aware of that. It’s my counter to the assertion that McDaniels is here for years to come. Wouldn’t bank on that.
I am.

I don’t think teams will be so fast to make him a head coach again. He flamed out twice. It will be at least a few years before McDaniels is offered another head coaching job if ever.

And if Josh is smart he will wait for the perfect position. Or at least as perfect as possible. With two strikes, he cannot just go anywhere.

BTW, Bedard said it first so I don’t want to take credit for it, Maye is starting to look to me like a young Aaron Rodgers more and more than a young Josh Allen. Hopefully he can be Rodgers 2.0 without the baggage and choking in the playoffs.

I said that, and I don't pay attention to Bedard.

Agreed. Some people are just better as DC/OC and can't make the transition to HC. It's not a knock on McDaniels, he is a great OC, he just has a ceiling and HC is above that ceiling.

I have felt from the first day after the draft thst they would challenge for a wild card spot this year, now I believe they will get one. Now I want them to get a wild card and win a playoff game.
Let's get a bit greedy and shoot for NUMBER 7.

All teams have issues. Health permitting we do stand a chance .

I would also say his situational and pocket awareness has gone from inconsistent to near elite overnight. He is no longer escaping the pocket the first sign of pressure on every play. He can sense the pressure now. He is directing receivers down field to adjust when plays are broken. From this aspect, he is playing like a ten year veteran.
As Aaron Schatz said yesterday, he looks like he's 12 but plays like he's 30.

According to this hes tied for least turnovers amongst qbs. So we have

5th in yards
T-8th in passing tds
T-5th in total tds
4th in passer rating
2nd in completion %
T-1st in least turnovers

And looks like hes top 5 in most or all of the advanced stats like epa.

Someone over at The Ringer noted (paraphrasing) that if it weren't for those previous two flameouts he'd be near the top of the HC list right now with how Maye is playing.

Josh can always go for a HC job in college if offered better money.

IMO that's a bad fit for him. He doesn't need the money and he doesn't need the stress of dealing with teenage millionaires.

Diggs said it first, and best: “Drake Maye has to be Drake Maye”
