NFL News Dolphins Trading Jaylen Waddle to Broncos

IF H Henry who is another year older and who disappears against Good/Great Defenses is our best weapon...we are in trouble.
And that’s the point. Boutte is unproven and Doubs is average. They can’t run it back and just replace Diggs with Doubs and expect better results when they play against better competition.

The Pats experts say otherwise.

I think you are really discounting Doubs. They aren't really running it back, they have upgraded LG added a better FB, so the running game should be significantly improved. A better running game will help Maye and make the PA more effective.

I don't really understand your point other than having a big name at WR improves the team more than anything else. That is a very casual fan reaction imo

Me... me... me... A.J. Brown.
Even if you don't believe the reports that a handshake deal has been made, I do believe he will be a June trade. So no, he's currently not available if that's the case.

And if the Eagles and Patriots are in a staring contest on compensation, it would be a mistake if the Pats blink first. We aren't complete enough yet to make a luxury trade. And I say this as a person that does hope we get Brown. It just needs to be for the right price, or not at all.

Where is the currently available improvement supposed to be coming from?
Young players improving, they also have 11 draft picks and plenty of cash for UDFA... so there will be a large influx of young talent.

I heard about the handshake deal...I would pass on a First Rounder now for him. The way Brown's contract is set up really handicaps the Eagles. That said I'm open to maybe a Second and a Player in 27 or a Second in 27 and a Third in 28. You can't get something for nothing.

Wozzy Draft picks Bust! it's not a an exact science. There's also a learning curve.

They were wildly successful in last season's draft... to the point of reaching a Super Bowl.

Last year's rookies will be better in year two.

They can also add a lot of talent in this year's draft, UDFA and remaining free agency.

It's way too early to judge this year's roster when it's hardly set, and the roster as it currently exists is still damn good.

Every single player you've ever wanted us to trade for, every single one, was once drafted. That's the risk of the draft. The payoff is cheap talent, even if they never become elite.

Not really. Generally a team that wins has to have a 1000 yard receiver. There isn’t anyone currently on this roster. Last year they had Diggs who eeked out 1000 yards. Doubs is average and now he’s going to get keyed in on as the top wide receiver on the depth chart. He’s not that guy.

Of course, I responded to a poster who implied the Patriots have done all they're going to do. There really is nothing left until the draft and/or if AJ becomes available in June. (Unless we bring back Diggs, but I'm sure both sides are moving on)

A few posts back, you ended it with another eye roll emoji about how the Patriots haven't fixed the WR position, presumably they haven't traded for AJ Brown yet.

And now you're saying what you'd be willing to trade for him. (And the compensation seems reasonable)

But you can't have it both ways. Don't criticize the team for not yet completing a trade you yourself have set limits on.

That doesn't answer the question 2. Which of the QB's you listed outplayed Maye last season?

Brown being stuck there until June was a given, they may already have the beginnings of a handshake deal in place unless someone else blows them away with an offer. We'll see...

But if not I like a lot of WR's in this draft and the Pats could own the middle rounds with 11 overall picks, especially if they trade out of 31 into the 2nd round and move some later picks up.

I think signing Doubs means the Pats do not HAVE to trade for AJB nor do they HAVE to draft a WR early.
I also believe that is is very possible that Doubs is more productive than Diggs was. I also think Boutte, Williams and maybe Chism have another level to improve.
