I took a new job. It's in retail..so it's not a m-f 9-5 job. Sunday is nice because it's time and a half but still..i may be missing a few pats games

I haven't missed a game in 4 years..i cringe at the thought of not being able to watch a game. Monday night opener i may miss the whole thing . Now that would suck....

Does work get in the way of games for you sometimes?

It has in the past. When I wasn't able to watch the game, I always had a small transistor radio with an earpiece so I could listen in with one ear whenever I could.

Sometimes I travel on Sundays, which often includes connecting flights. That can make things quite difficult.

all the time. you name it, and i've missed it. pats, sox, c's and b's.

These are the type of situations that need to be explored during an interview.

"The Patriots are important to me, what are YOU going to do to make sure I don't miss a snap this season?"

Nothin' wrong in turning the tables

Yep from time to time. Grocery stores are sadly open all the time

I may have a nervous breakdown...i don't know what to expect the first time i start to miss some quarters

I won't mind if i miss a half and catch the last half..but a whole game is rough!

As a produce manager, I rarely work Sundays but can still remember last season's opener. That Saturday, I could tell one of my guys was suffering somewhat with an abscess tooth but he told me he would be good to go that Sunday. (he was set to train a new person working his first day)

I woke up Sunday fired up and ready to go. I was all set with my internet feed to watch the game and was in the middle of watching pregame when my phone started going off. The caller id showed work. I knew what it meant instantly. It meant my guy needed to go home. "Noooooo, NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!"

Needless to say, the new guy and I took frequent quick breaks to get score updates.

Knowing you'll miss a game in advance is bad enough, finding out last minute is when it's brutal.

Nope. I get PAID to watch....WOO-HOO !!:singing:

Being in the Navy, it can make it hard being Underway sometimes, especially overseas where the signal sucks but while inport, since I work in an office all I have to due is turn on the tv.

Same for me. I hate when that happens. I try to travel so I can catch the game but usually can't

Yeah that would suck...at least i will have a week notice if i am going to miss game or not..lucky me though almost all pats games on sunday are at 4:15...and our stores closes at 5-530 on sundays..so not too bad..still make it home to watch second half. I just wanna see the opener so bad on Monday...ill know on Wednesday when i go back in. If i wasn't a month in i would have asked to work the morning shift or not at all..but not wanting to get a bad wrap early i kept my mouth shut

Missing a game would be grounds for turning in my resignation unless there was an extraordinary circumstance.

I've literally delayed project deployments and scheduled them around the playoffs.

Not work, but a six year old and a three year old do on Sunday afternoons - night games aren't much a problem, but forget trying to watch a game at 1 pm on a Sunday afternoon....thank God for the DVR....

I hear ya, shipmate. Although I'm long outta the service, I still remember being deployed and having to search through newspapers to find out just so much as the score! Stateside, even if we were flying, we could still get the game on the radio or have our radio operator give us updates.

Sometimes due to severe storm concerns I have to work. In between calls I watch on my Iphone since it is linked to my direct tv. Still not the same as watching it on the big screen though.

I live in MST, so the early weekday games, like the next one, are tough.

Best thing I can recommend is DVR the game and avoid football conversations before watching it. If you only miss some of the game, skip the commercials and catch up to the live game. Otherwise, watch it when you have time but don't watch the news/browse the Internet before then as games are not nearly as entertaining when you know how they end.

Directv.Football package.Programmable DVR.

then sit back and watch whatever whenever
