Do you want to see Tom play if he is healthy enough to play or just have him do what Manning and Tomlinson are doing and that is sitting out the 4 preseason games because I don't see Brady out there much if at all in week 4 - Its week 3 and very small time in week 4 or its not at all till week one (hopefully) IMO

I say let him rest if he needs to.

I've had enough of players limping off. I want to see him against KC. And read about him playing at practice.

I agree to let him sit till week 1 - Even though the offense until then will probably be a pure embarrasment to the league for the next 2 weeks if he does sit out but who really cares about what it looks like in preseason so fu(k those guys like Sharpe who think we are doomed.

I think at least for an drive or two it would be good. Just to remind all the haters that the Patriots are alive and well.

The only thing that makes me say hmmm maybe for a few series is the fact that this matchup could certainly be a preview of SB 43 although a lot of guys will not be there by then that will be playing in this preseason game.

The Eagles look like a solid contender in the NFC and may challenge for that East crown so its possible

NO,

give him 3 series in the 4th game and that's it.

i think BB will have some fun with this like last yr when he didnt play moss and "moss is on the bubble" stories started . i bet he will feed ESPN and all other idiots with wild speculation by resting brady .

I would really like to see Gutz get to play 3 quaters of this game ... he deserves a chance to show he can do the job as backup. I don't think they will have to call vanilla plays for him either ... we'll see Friday.

There's really no need to see O'Connell out there for more than a quater. He has shown he has skills and he has alot of learning to do. If he's the #3 or #4 doesn't matter.

So...if I may hijack here for a minute ... I want to see Gutz play most of this game ... that's what I want.

I'd love to see B.B. make up some more injury crap. Brady has knee, ankle, shoulder, **** (too much Giselle) injuries. Then have Tommy come out against K.C., and throw 4 t.d.'s.

I don't buy in to the 'ruse' theory. This team is not the same when he is not on the field, so I'd like to see him play for one successful drive next week, if only to restore some confidence amongst the team . I think its needed right now. If he waits, and we suck in week 3, but he comes out week 4 of preseason and leads one efficient TD drive, I'm fine with that as well. I would like some confirmation that he is healthy.

No I don't want him playing against the Eagles.

1. The Eagles feature a lot of exotic blitz schemes under Jim Johnson and are likely to try them out in the 3rd pre-season game (the game which every team takes most seriously). The Patriot Oline has not looked good and there's no reason to expose Brady to that blitz.

2. Make sure Tom is 100% before playing. He wasn't even well enough to make the trip for a game on Sunday night and the Pats have quick turnaround to play Friday. I'd sit him out even if it felt perfect (a huge stretch) by Wedenesday's practice.

3. The first game of the year is at home against Kansas City. This is a PERFECT game to get the kinks out for Brady. Kansas City has a makeshift Oline and Croyle at QB, they won't be scoring many points especially on the road. The Chiefs also traded away their best pass rusher and their Dline is not likely to be ferocious. I don't see the offense needing a ton of points to win this game, yet I see the opportunity for them to score a ton if they are sharp.

My guess is the foot injury was more misdirection than real. He hasn't missed any practices. He simply wasn't going to play in Tampa, so why make the trip? Even if his foot was a little sore, better to let it rest at home.

I'd rather see him sit out. Too many preseason injuries, too risky. He's Tom Brady, he doesn't need any more practice than what he's getting in camp.

Yes. I want him in there for one series, even if it's 3 and out.

i want him play the 7 september

works for me too

Sit him. Who gives a ***** what the rest of the the world thinks. We know when the real season comes along Tom and co. will be back to kicking ass.

I don't buy in to the 'ruse' theory.

SAY WHAT?

Don't you understand - BB is the NFL's mad scientist, its puppet master. He spends his time putting out misinformation to confuse everyone else. In fact, after reading this board I think it is his top priority. Right now the whole NFL is discounting the Pats because of Brady's fake injury.

Remember last year when he pulled that ruse before the Super Bowl about Brady having an ankle injury? That sure fooled everyone. It's been 6 months and I think the Giants still can't figure it out.

The whole BB as the mad scientist messing with the whole league is one of the more ridiculous theories on this board. It gets thrown out there everytime something even a little bad like this happens, whether it makes sense or not. There is no reason to lie about injuries in the preseason. No one game plans for it and the league does not have rules that healthy players must play. Brady has sat out preseason games repeatedly over the last few years some when healthy. He likely will sit again this week unless he is 100%.

The truth cannot be that Brady has a minor foot injury and was rested because it was a preseason game which counts for nothing. After all - the only people saying that BS are Mike Reiss who is the most plugged in reporter in Boston and Tom Brady himself who clearly does not know anything about Tom Brady.

I want to see Brady play for a few series in one of the last 2 preseason games. Which of the two doesn't matter to me.
