Good points... not sure if we ever have? I know there were years we had great edge dept.. remember jabal Sheard? What a nice pick up.. we will carry a 90 man roster into camp.. so it's likely we add another veteran Clowney, Epenensa, ect.. plus the draft picks and then UDFA...

I really like Landry but as a fan I'm banking on him likely being on PUP until he shows he's back healthy and can be a factor.. if he's still comprised then he is best served in a reduced snaps role wich would probably be perfect for him all things considered age & injury..

Swinson is going to have to really show something this offseason/camp.

Landry actually was a disappointment to me this year. I give him some slack due to injury but in 10 games he played in he had 0 sacks and that was the reason I thought he was brought in. He is not good at sealing the edge and I just keep seeing the game against the Falcons when the qb jogged around him on the outside to score. He looked like he was 100 years old trying to chase him. Knee? maybe but lets be honest if this wasnt a Vrabel guy I think he would be gone. I hope that if they keep him this year we dont have to hear about the knee and that he actually looks a lot better. He will be 30 this year if he has a good year maybe you hang onto him another year or so.

We need to strengthen the depth and I've been adamant on adding at least another under 30 guy... at Edge for many reasons.. remember Rob Ninkovich? Guy was playing long snapper for goodness sake.. and came here and developed into a key starter... AJ Epenensa just makes so much sense for a depth Edge guy..

I havent really looked into Epenensa but I agree they need more help on the edge. It should be a priority along with the O line and WR.

I'm simply speaking about depth guys..because I firmly believe unless we trade for a Jonathan Grennard to line up opposite Dre Jones anyone else we sign is a depth piece.. being able to keep pressure on offenses with fresher rushers will benefit the front 7.. furthermore we will carry 90 into camp.. may the best man win is my thinking...

Understand!! AJs coming off a 2 year 12M deal.. his market is likely between 5-7 Million IMO.. the edge market has been crazy this offseason look as the deals Mafe, Philips and Oweh got.. crazy..

So to your point AJ may very well get a team to pay him 8-10.. should he come here it's 5-6.. that's a solid rotational player salary for an edge... I have high hopes for Ponder really came on late last season..

We all have our opinions, I don’t think adding AJ for $8 makes sense as a depth pc.
I would rather add Clowney at 5-6 on a one year deal.
Last year we carried what, 4-5 rushers?

Jones
Rookie
Vet
Swinson/Landry

I don’t think that vet should be an 8-10m player.

Bruschi didn't have an $11M fully guaranteed salary plus another $1.275M in per game roster bonuses to earn by playing.

I don't think it has anything to do with him being Vrabel guy that he's here. it has to do with his salary being guaranteed. If his $11M salary wasn't guaranteed, we'd be able to cut him and save $8.35M of cap space. Vrabel guy or not, he'd be cut coming off that injury and looking "meh". But that $11M IS guaranteed so if we cut him we LOSE $2.65M of cap space since that $11M still counts on the cap. That's why he's here still. And that's why he's not going to retire. People on here keep suggesting it and it doesn't make any sense.

Edge guys cashed in this offseason kudos to them.. this the off season to be an Edge player.. imagine Philips had 5 sacks and look at the deal he got.. chassion got 12 for 1 year...

I can't believe the plan was to let both Munford and Lowe go, not sign anyone else yet and hope they find a quality backup for 2026 in the draft AFTER they draft an OT in rounds 1-3. Hope is not a plan. IMO the Patriots and Munford have a verbal agreement,
