The goal is to win the superbowl. Winning the division is nice, but its not the end goal.
I like that none of the players wore Division Championship gear during the press conference, because it shows what I said: The goal is to win it all. This organization no longer cherishes division championships like a lot of teams out there, we cherish Super Bowl Championships.
Personally, I don't buy them. But my wife buys them for me thinking it's a good thing and I don't want her to feel bad. I've got some complete sets now so it's all good. Hopefully that trend continues.
I do, if they win the Super Bowl. For example, I have a 2003 AFC Champions shirt I bought after we won the Super Bowl. I bought it because beating the Steelers that year after the Halloween debacle was exceptionally sweet.
If we win the Super Bowl, I'll definitely buy some AFC East or AFC Champs gear. Otherwise, why bother.
I never buy any gear until the Pats are finished and I rarely buy anything other than Super Bowl winners. The thing is the Super Bowl gear tends to be the ugliest of all the levels of gear.
