we always ask if we'd take a 1 for " fill in the blank " (our borderline players)

would we give a 1 for AT? i would; in a heartbeat.

No.

Thomas is 30. Unless you're the Bills, you don't trade a 1st round pick for a 30-something.

The Pats would NEVER do it, ESPECIALLY because they'd have to pay for Thomas after the fact.

It's a no-brainer. NO is the simple answer.

I would throw up if the Pats were dumb enough to trade a #1 for Adalius Thomas. He is a great player, but he is 30 years old. Would rather draft a young LB.

so, we think everyone will give up 1's for our crap, but we would never give up our LOW 1's for studs?

Do you not understand this?

Not only would the Pats have to give up a #1 pick, but ALSO would have to pay him as if he was a FREE AGENT ON THE MARKET.

There's no point in doing that.

Thomas may be a "stud" to you, but he's no LT or Peyton Manning. Not even close to the top 5 or 10 players in the league.

How about a #1 for Baltimore's #2 plus Thomas?

Well . . .

- History shows other teams will do it but the Patriots likely won't.
- 26 year olds are worth more than 30 year olds.
- CB are worth more than LB.

No way.

1-I'm not even sure BB was interested in Thomas in the first place.
2-Our OLBs are solid. It's our ILB situation that needs an overhaul.

What crap are you talking about? For the last month this board has been buzzing that we would be lucky to get a solid #2 pick for Asante. Anybody who thinks a #1 is in the minority. As far as Brach crap, we did get a # for him if I remember right.

What OLB's are you talking about. We a have Colvin and as of right now nobody on the other side. You could cite Vrabel, but he has played more ILB in the last two years. Vrabel is only one guy who has no solid position. Who the heck are you refering to when you think our OLBs are solid? We only have 1 1/2.

Actually I think a #1 is totally viable considering The Jest got a #1 for John Abraham. Just like selling a house, though, comps only work if you find an actual buyer.

But, regardless, I agree that no-one is talking about anyone less than Samuel getting a #1.

According to Yankees/Colts, Thomas has NOT been franchised.

After thinking about it SOME, i'd do it. #28 for AT. The window the patriots have(as far as how long i think Brady and Belichick will be around) is not going to stay open forever. Getting an All Pro Caliber Linebacker to add to an already good D would be great. We'd still have the #24 pick in the draft and we've got the money to spend NOW.
