This is going to be a crazy weird ruling.
I can understand why it stands.
Manning's arm was hit as he was coming over the top, and that knocked loose the ball. But then what do you do about the fact that the ball was moving forward? And when QB's arms are hit, the ball goes forward, it's considered a pass attempt?
I seriously think the rulebook is not equipped to deal with what just happened.
