All I can think is the tuck rule ends as soon as Manning put his second hand back onto the ball.

This is going to be a crazy weird ruling.

I can understand why it stands.

Manning's arm was hit as he was coming over the top, and that knocked loose the ball. But then what do you do about the fact that the ball was moving forward? And when QB's arms are hit, the ball goes forward, it's considered a pass attempt?

I seriously think the rulebook is not equipped to deal with what just happened.

The ball was KNOCKED out - he did not drop it - I do not know the new rules on this, but I thought they were going to make this type of thing work for the D - not the O.

I dont know, it looked like he had it pressed against his leg with both hands then lost it a second time. Maybe the ref couldnt tell if he had regained control thus negating the tuck so it stood as opposed to confirmed? Either way it will piss off Raider fans and we can all agree thats a good thing, even our Charger friend.
