I agree that we matchup well. But I believe Pittsburgh has a better chance than maybe ever. That’s all

Offensively for them, yes. The combination of Bell/Brown/Bryant/Smith-Schuster/Rogers/Heyward-Bey/James is probably their best combo of skill position players against us in the last few years.

Will it be enough? Both teams will have to get there first.

The Steelers are equipped to beat the patriots this year more so than maybe ever in the Brady era

idk, they are basically the same as last years team. can they do it? sure...but right now we may be too much in their heads for them to actually execute it.

we just beat them in their house with a depleted squad. They pulled all the punches in that game. will have no answer for Gronk. and return of Hogan/mitchell should help against the man coverage if that is their big secret weapon.

defensively I think harrison/van noy will help much better against the run.

"If the Dolphins (Pre Season), Raiders (Mid Season), Ravens (End of Season), Bills make the playoffs they're going to be a tough out"

KC has the most potential to give the Pats a good game but I doubt it unless Andy switches from cable to Direct TV, sleeps in a Holiday Inn Express and pounds a couple of Tofu Burgers. Ain't happening.

Also before the Pat score a TD let he will need to distract Bill with his tricky "switching to geico" talk which saves you 15% or more!

OTOH, the Pats have had a few (relative) laughers in the Divisional Round - DEN 2011, HOU 2012, Indy in 2013 & 2014.

The Steelers in last season's AFCCG.
2014 indy was in the afcg. and ravens divisional was far from a laugher

Yup. Indy 2014 was indeed the CG, not the Divisional. My bad.

And, yes, the Pats have also had a lot of squeakers in the post-season, often before or after a blow-out, although I'm not sure what that has to to with my point.

Tom Brady not being Tom Brady for the last 5 weeks is the biggest concern, i don't care about Joe Haden coming back or who the Patriots play.

If Tom Brady is himself then the Patriots are the best team by far in the AFC playoffs but if he's Tom Brady of weeks 13-17 then the Patriots have a mediocre quarterback and are vunerable to be upset at home even in the Divisional round.

Lets hope that week off heals that Achilles.

This stupid narrative of how Bradys injury is the reason why the offense slowed down a bit will never go away, right ? Jesus..

As will the delusion he's been the same guy in the last 5 weeks.

There is no delusion. It is called being informed. Look at the injury report and count the number of player on the offense who have been injured and missed time during the same timeframe. This has a substantially bigger effect on what has been going on than anything that Brady has been going through. But by all means.. lets just throw Kellerman hot takes..

I just saw a "stat" comparing Brady's 3rd-down completion percentages at various distances from the first half of the season to the second. They were down significantly across the board, with the decline most severe at greater distances.

"Something is wrong with Brady!"

Apparently aside from the fact that Hogan was unavailable.

smh

PLaying a team 3 times is over hyped. The stat i heard on tv was the team winning the first 2 was 11-6. I like those odds. My preference would be to play Tenn or Buff. KC has some serious speed and can give us issues.

I disagree. I don't care what an idiot like Kellerman says as I don't even pay attention to his hot takes. But Brady hasn't been as sharp since the OAK game and I don't think its a coincidence. Let's hope the bye week helps things out.

That was from @Ian so show some respect!

But seriously, it can be both things--issues with the team and Brady not being quite himself.

I will say this, was considering making a thread but eh..

The Pats need Hogan and/or Mitchell to win it all this year. Discuss.

Posts like this seriously make me concerned about the state of reading comprehension in the world. Who is saying it is a conincidence ? The point is that there are more players injured on offense than just Brady and this has a bigger effect on stats and the offense in general than his achillies or shoulder issues.

Why do I think that ?

Because nobody has found any set of scenes in the last month of games where his throwing mechanics or other aspects of his game seem to be out of whack. When he is given time and a matchup his throws are accurate and arrive with zip for the most part. When the interior is not collapsing and he has space he still slides smoothly through the pocket and can set almost immediately to make a throw.

There is no comprehension issue. I get exactly what you are saying and I have a different take, that is all.

Even the game from a couple days ago against NYJ consisted of him missing guys in stride that would have netted big gains in the passing game. This has nothing to do with Hogan/Mitchell/Burkhead/White or whomever else was absent IMO.
