Dion Lewis vs James White

I will say this. If you need to pass and they know you need to pass give me White all day. White is better at picking up the blitz and he can run a better route tree.

Lewis is the better overall RB when healthy as far as do it all but White is the better overall pass catching back and is more dependable to be out there so his more time with Brady (can never underrate that).

Lewis is the better player to get the ball to in open space and create something but White is the better player if you are running a route.

Also White has improved his running and gain strength. I don't want him running 20 times between the tackles but he isn't stopped as easily as he use to be.

I am very happy to have both on the roster but White at this point from ability to stay on the field has proven himself more valuable. Lewis though can take over games at times like we saw in Houston which White can't do to the same level.

One is more durable and reliable and the other is more dynamic. I'll take durability and reliability.

I am daring to think that White has what it takes to be the Team's new "Kevin Faulk", but with better ball security. It will take a few more years with solid performances, but this kind of back is essential in today's NFL. Here's hoping!

Not so sure about your last 2 points. If they like Foster, I doubt they'll draft another third down back. Practically all we have is third down backs. As far as Lewis being a cap cut, I don't see it because he's very cheap and we have a ton of space. I could see him simply not making the 53 though.

He counts for 1.4m against the cap

White is a FA after next year....drafting someone at this point is what they do

Foster has shown little

Cheers mate....is it a fair appraisal??

Britpat I like McCaffrey but I like others too very deep RB draft could even doube dip at position. Someone for everybody it's just a matter of what exactly you're looking for.

The little we saw was more than enough. Pats love to redshirt their future scat or 3rd down RB they did it with Vareen - White could Foster be next?? We can see a pattern. Dion Lewis should be more effective this season being another year removed from that injury. White seems like a sure goner so I can see them resigning Lewis for a another stint for insurance with DJ Foster just to have two effective scat backs on the roster at all times.
