Dice-K should start over Buchholz for game 3, or at the very least pitch in game 4 over Lester.
Last year he was 18-3, with the league's best opp avg against of any pitcher. Oh, by the way he's also 6-1 in the MLB post-season lifetime. His games aren't pretty, but all the guy does is win. He's a gamer who battles, and rises to challenge hitters when men are on base. It's also clear that he's back from injury, to pre-injury form. His September era is 2.22 in 4 starts; he had a better September than Clay Buchholz.
In Buchholz's last two starts, he gave up 7 runs and 6 runs, respectively. Buchholz has no post-season experience, has a worse September, and worse overall career stats than Dice-K. Buchholz should not be starting game 3 over Dice-K. If Dice-K's last name was Beckett or Lester coming back from shoulder injury, and having that great September in their month back, they would be starting game 3.
Also, Lester on 3 days rest, in no way is a better option than Dice-K at full rest for game 4. Additionally, there is no reason to play desperate so soon. We've been down 0-2 in the past, and won series with Derek Lowe and John Burkett in games 3 and 4 in playoffs series.
