Lee Rasizer, of the Rocky Mountain News, reports an unnamed team was the third team to turn down the Denver Broncos' offer of two first-round draft picks for their first-round pick in the NFL Draft. The team was draft somewhere in the top five of the draft, other than No. 3 or No. 5.

Packers | Team says no to NFL Draft trade

WBAY, citing the Rocky Mountain News, reports the Green Bay Packers turned down the Denver Broncos' offer of two first-round draft picks for the Packers' selection at No. 5 in the NFL Draft.
Lot of speculation that they're looking WR in the first round, but not if they're trying to move up to 3, 4, or 5. Vernon Davis?

Edit: As Nut points out below, duh, the SF trade already happened, so this may be old news.

I bet they are trying to get one of the QB's, especially Leinart. Perhaps they saw how pathetic Jake was in the playoffs and see this as a chance to get a franchise QB. If not a QB, they probably Ferguson.

They don't need to be in the top 10 to get Chad Jackson - but if I were Eric Mangini I think I'd seriously consider a trade down given the amount of help his team needs (not to mention the cap space needed for a top 5 pick)

it must be a qb, unless they know something we dont

Thye already traded one of their first round picks (22) to SF. So, now they don't have the 'firepower" to move up into the top 5.

Those articles look like they were written before the SF trade.

Sharpe = Davis = $$$ = TDs!!!! I may not think that way, but I could see Denver doing it.

They are dated today - but one would think that if the top 5 is your goal you'd hold onto a #22 pick.

Maybe they'd offer next year's picks?

Key words that I didn't pay enough attention to. "was' & 'were".

I do have to stop taking drugs.
