Denver gives me hope......

Orton is a top-tier QB, at least so far this season. I do agree that as of now our ground game is better than Denver's, although with their health problems at RB (make ours pale in comparison) that's to be expected. I don't expect that trend to continue through the year.

I do agree that our ST will largely determine how far the team can go. Games like the last one are pretty much rare by definition, but if the ST can constantly win the field position battle, then that will help cover for the defense, for sure.

Where do you rank Orton as a QB?

You're looking at total yardage.

Ok 23 and 27 is so close that their shouldn't even be a debate. Lets just agree they are a bad running team?

Solidly in the top 10, I'd say. Behind the truly elite guys--Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers, Rivers, Roethlisberger-but at/near the front of the next tier of Romo, Schaub, Ryan, Orton, Flacco, McNabb, etc. etc.

So all in all, probably the 7th or 8th best QB, IMO. Maybe as low as 10th, at worst. I might be overvaluing him on the whole, but he makes good decisions, throws accurately, and as a result you can run an offense through him and he doesn't turn the ball over much. There aren't a whole lot of QBs who you can say that about, but luckily we have the very best of them.

You'd rather have Orton or Vick than Rodgers or Rivers? FWIW, Favre and Vick wouldn't even make my top 20, and McNabb and Romo would both be a bit further down the list. I like Romo, but he turns the ball over too much. Still a good QB, top 10 and everything, but I'll take Orton over him. And McNabb's just not accurate enough.

I just don't like Rogers or Rivers, my biased attitude may hurt this list overall but you could take them over Orton.

Last year at this time Chris had just 425 or so yards so he is just a little behind last year...not as far off from 2009 as some think

The thing with Orton is that hes still pretty young (27), and pretty much every QB thats been as good as he has in their 2nd year has turned into an absolute stud.

CJ is now running below league average per carry. Could you have ever stated that last year?

Orton is a better quarterback right now than Favre, McNabb, Romo and Vick.

I pretty much agree, that's why I put him with/ahead of guys like Romo, Ryan and Schaub, and significantly ahead of guys like McNabb, Eli, Favre, Cutler, etc.

No but you can't expect him to have 2 consecutive seasons like that,His OL is a bit different and he has been running a good deal for the past 2 years.

I hope Chris does not fall into the Larry Johnson plague where he gets way too many carries early and what looks like a sure fire HOF career goes drastically gone by the wayside when he is worn out early in his career from carrying a team who has only average WR talent.

His main competitor in AP at least has some real good talent at WR to take some pressure off of him and with Moss added into the roster only makes it better.

Last year Chris Johnson, 4 games in had 434 Yds Rushing in 69 Carries for 6.3 ypc. He also had 120 yards receiving.

He's got 354 yards in 94 carries right now, for 3.75 ypc, and 38 yards receiving right now.

Those aren't similar at all. One is fantastic, the other is below replacement.

Lets be real here..... Farve with some offensive weapons was 32 and 7 or something close to that. Orton with Marshal never even came close to producing such numbers. Mcnabb is a proven playoff quarterback while winning this year with nothing on the offensive end. Vick was a leading contender for MVP before he went down. Romo is debatable.

Right, you can't expect him to have a year like last, but hes not just having a good but not great season. He's got some of the worst per carry RB stats in the NFL

Why don't you like them? Rodgers holds onto the ball for too long and has admittedly been taking pretty bad care of the ball so far this year (4.1 INT%), but they're both carrying their teams this year. Put either one of those guys on the Vikings or the Eagles and that team wins the SB.

Maybe it is their personality{Not a good judging factor but..} it is my list

McNabb's recieving options right now are better than Orton's. The fact that he was good in 2004 is irrelevant at this point. Same with Favre.

Right now, Orton IS the league MVP if things keep going the way they are.

He's on pace for 5600 yds passing at 67.5% comp% and 8.3 YPA, 24 TD, 12 INT.

Vick, on the other hand, was on pace for 3100 yds passing, at a 61% clip, for about 8 YPA. Kyle Orton is a much better QB than Vick.
