They have no running game, one half way decent receiver and Kyle "LOL" Orton. I know Josh is a great OC but we have more weapons than them right now with Tom Brady. This offense can still be productive. Have faith in Bill.. he must of seen something in our offense to make that trade.

Don't forget that the Broncos have Champ Bailey and a forever young Brian Dawkins in case the offense suddenly sputters .... we don't have that luxury so the offense must continue to play well and I think it will.

Their defense is better but for them to be first in passing yards while thirty second in rushing is remarkable with so few weapons.

Indy proved you can be a super bowl team with a lousy running game.

They also play in the AFC west, and are facing the AFC/NFC south this season. Not exactly the top pass defenses.

That running game wasn't lousy during their Super Bowl run. Most agree Addai should of been the Super Bowl MVP.

Denver's defense just shut down Chris Johnson, and to this point in the season they have one of the best run defenses in the league. Kyle Orton is a very good QB (he's leading the NFL in passing right now). Royal, Gaffney and Lloyd are all good WRs, and Demaryius Thomas is showing a ton of potential and will likely progress a bunch as the season goes on (if you're going to count our rookies' potential, you gotta count theirs too if you're making a comparison). Their running game is suffering because Moreno's missed the last 2 weeks with a hamstring injury and Maroney hasn't been fully worked into the offense yet. It'll work itself out fine, Moreno's a talented guy. They're a good football team. I don't think it's a given at all that we have more weapons than them. Our TEs are better, but their running backs and wide receivers are significantly better than ours, and they have the luxury of playing in the worst division in the AFC.

Titans are ranked 13th in opponents passing yards. We will also no more when they play the Ravens.

Everyone is shutting down CJ, he is struggling. This isn't about their defense. Kyle Orton is not even close to Tom Brady as a passer or player. We have an advantage at the tight end position as well as the slot. We are even running the ball better than them. As of now the Patriots have more weapons.

That's a pretty interesting definition of "shut down" that you have, since CJ is on pace for 1400 yards and 16 touchdowns. And even that's skewed way down by having played the Steelers and the Broncos, who have two of the best run defenses in the league (hence my original point). And no, we don't have an advantage in the slot. They have a healthy Eddie Royal, we have a recovering Wes Welker. I take it you haven't seen Royal play lately.

We don't have more weapons than they do, but even if we did it would still be beside the point since their defense is way better than ours.

Where the hell do you guys find that Chris Johnson is struggling?

He has 354 Yards in 4 games which averages to about 90 yards a game

While he will probably not hit 2,000 yards again this season to say he is struggling is a bit excessive

At this rate he will have 1,400 on the season....not too shabby

I would take a 90 per game rusher on this team anytime, anywhere

Kyle Orton is really good, in case you hadn't noticed.

He looked terrible as a rookie, but every rookie not named Matt Ryan has been below replacement level. Orton was actually ABOVE AVERAGE as a 2nd year starter, which is ridiculous.

Over the last 20 games, hes put up a 64% completion percentage, 7.5 YPA, and 27 TDs to 15 Ints.

Thats similar to Romo, Eli, McNabb, etc group (except he fumbles way less than any of them), and hes younger than them, and has significantly less experience.

94 attempts 3.8 yards per carry. He has taken a step back. I am not making this up.

He's on pace for 1400 yards at a 3.8 ypc clip. Thats not good by any means.

Of course he's taken a step back from last season, just like Brady's taken a step back from 2007. So what? He's still probably the best RB in the league. He's played against two of the best run defenses in the NFL and he's still on pace for 1400 yards and 16 TDs. To say that 'everyone's shutting him down' is just flat-out wrong. There's no other way to spin it. Have you even seen him play this year? I've watched two Titans games: he's the real deal.

Who do you rate higher as a QB Brady or Orton? Him putting up those numbers with less than desirable offensive weapons proves that the Patriots can succeed on offense.

AP right now is the best back in the league. Anyone with eyes can see that. Chris is taking big hits while not breaking off his long runs. The little guy is breaking down. They're slowing him down, is that better?

The Steelers are surrendering 2.6 YPC through 4 games, best in the NFL. His YPC is only as low as it is because he's played against the Broncos and the Steelers. His YPC will be a whole lot closer to 2009 form once they play against some easier defenses. You can't look at someone's stats through 4 games without looking at the quality of defenses faced, because it'll vary wildly from team to team.

He's also one of the only RBs in the league who could get anywhere close to 4 YPC with that many carries in that offense; everyone knows they're running it 30 times a game, and they dedicate their entire gameplan to keeping him from bouncing it outside.

Anyways, to get back to the real point of the thread, as I pointed out, the Broncos have an elite run defense. There are a whole lot of reasons why they're doing as well as they are, and I dunno why Patriots fans should be optimistic about it. They're a better team than the Pats are, that's why.

Anybody can run for 1400 yards if you give them enough carries.
