It's being reported on both ESPN n NFLN that Ware will b released by Dallas

Cue the lets s nba g him up but never actually be close to getting.him post.

can we keep all these threads in just one? too many open

Rather have Allen. He's going to come cheaper and he's just as good, if not better, at this point than Ware.

Well according to this, Denver is the only team pursuing Allen.

@ProFootballTalk: impediment to Jared Allen to Broncos?Allen may want too much money, per league source. currently has no other suitors.

Interesting take, Kontra. Could you elaborate.

BTW - Allen was one of my top DE options. What do think his price tag is going to be. Is $5MM enough? I never entertained Ware simply because I never thought he'd be in the Pats price range.

I'd take either one! Allen or Ware would be perfect.

According to Rappaport, 6 playoff teams have called Ware.

So there's a 50% chance the Patriots have called him.

Allen says he wants 2 years 16 million.

I am not sure he is the guy we want though. A few other good DEs out there. Peppers is interesting as well. The guy i think we HAVE to get is Revis though. Get him and back load that contract.

Peppers has also been released

This reminds me of last year with Freeney and Abraham. Both Denver and Pats were looking. Similar to this year. But they weren't as good as this class

Ware has gotten dinged up pretty good the past two seasons but he's in his prime at 28...I'd definitely like to see them take a shot, but I still feel this is business as usual with BB...which makes me pessimistic.

I'd put Abraham last year on about the same level as Allen/Ware/Peppers this year. He has the ninth most sacks of all time; definitely one of the most underrated players of his era. He has a case for the HOF, and the production is still there.

It's a shame that Erika Leigh's 'sources' were complete garbage, because he would have been huge for the Pats this past season.

I thought Ware is 31?

Ware is 31, though the point still stands. I'd be happy if the Pats signed him, even at a slight overpay for his recent production, and knowing that there's a bit of a scheme fit issue.

If we're looking at Cowboys, a strong case could be made for Jason Hatcher, too. Where Ware seemed to struggle with the switch to 4-3, Hatcher thrived with it. Plus he's a DT.

Same with that loyko guy. Very wrong on abraham. His sources suck

sorry...I thought I heard 28 on NFLN in the background...he is 31...
