I don't think that is the case.. And the article states Detriot was not interested which we now hear was not the case.. Unless another shoe drops, BB was fleeced and the pats lost a lot of value on the trade..

If Detroit was not interested and it was only Tampa and Denver how did BB and the Pats get fleeced? Maybe they got fleeced in people's perceived market for Cassel but not in reality. KC was the only serious suitor, in BB's mind it was Cassel for #34, Vrabel was going to be released anyway.

PRoblem is Detriot was interested.. And when you have more than 1 party involved in a trade, you start playing them off one another.. Do you see whats going on with Cutler?? Denver wanted Cassel.. Its a fact.. Cutler is going crazy.. So we know there were two parties involved at the bare minimum..

And people need to stop with the Vrabel was going to get released.. There has not been ONE report of this.. PLus we saved 3 million.. Woopie.. in the grand scheme, 3 million is not a lot..

If the other parties come to the dance after it's over then wonder why there is no music playing and why everyone went home what happens then? Also if $3m is "not a lot" then why did the Pats restructure Moss's deal to save $1m, hhhhmmmm.

Right.. the other parties weren't ready.. Why do you think they weren't ready?? Its BB job to call around after a soft deal is in place with KC and see if he can obtain more in a trade with other teams..

3million is not a lot when you just dumped 14.5 million.. Why the throw in? that's my point.. If you needed money to sign Taylor, WHY NOT JUST DUMP VRABEL and get that 3 mill or so back.. That is why I don't think they were dumping Vrabel..

My guess is that Cassel didn't want to go to Detroit, the same way Bledsoe said he didn't want to go to Cinci after the Pats started negotiations with them.

Oh, so because there were no advance reports, it wasn't going to happen?

How many reports were there of Vrabel being traded were there beforehand? How many reports the guys like Milloy and WMG were going to be cut.

Hate on BB if you want. I don't like mcdaniels, myself.

But at least I try to stick to facts and not make stuff up just to trash the guy. (Don't like him because of lack of adjustments mid-game, especially the superbowl - you know which one).

I'm sticking with the facts bro. YOu pulled one piece out my entire agrument in the thread.. People are saying it was going to happen, Vrabel being cut, well we don't know this.. Pure SPECULATION..

Fact is BB got fleeced in the deal and if Cutler is traded for multiple picks, BB will look like a bigger fool..

How can you be sticking w/the facts when you are using Cutler's market value and assuming Cassel's is the same? It's not. Cutler is a pro-bowl QB and Cassel is not. We all overvalued his market value, no team was willing to pay a 1st for him nevermind a 1st and a 3rd.

It's not 3 million, it's 4.39 million...and the difference between Detrot's pick and the 34 is averaged out at 4 million in guaranteed money.

I disagree with Cassel not wanting to go to Detriot.. neither of us know.. And what about Denver and TB.. U think he wouldn't want have gone to Denver over K.C?

Probowl is a joke.. Cutler had 25tds and 18ints.. Cassel had 21/11.. Cassel had a higher completion rate, not much but he did.. And this is his 1st year.. Both players are almost the same age.. So Cutler nets you multiple picks and Cassel gives you 1 2nd rounder, wouldn't you scratch your head.. I would..

BB was fleeced .....BB was fleeced....BB was fleeced ......and ManRAm is coming back to the SOX

manram must be referring back to Manny.. I don't get the comparison.. BB is a great coach and has built a solid foundation.. But this unquestionable love is ridiculous.. Or the in BB we trust..

Its great we got a 2nd rounder for basically a 7th rounder 4 years later.. But we did not maximize our return.. And this is where my problem lies.. Pioli 1, BB/Pats 0

all your points maybe valid but in the open market cutler is valued more whether he is better than cassel or not.its what the teams think not stats our own analysis. neither detriot or tampa wanted a part of cassel but wanted cutler, whether they were right or wrong but thats whom they wanted.
