Dallas Clark

f'n thanks man

I'd give Clark a top ten TE rating, but in that offense, with Harrison, Wayne and Manning, Bubba Franks would be all world.

Watson and Clark are both nice weapons, but there are a lot of talented TEs in the league--Gates, Gonzalez, Winslow, Cooley, Crumpler and at some point Vernon Davis and perhaps Alex Smith and who knows who else.

But to come out and state that Dallas Clark is the best TE in football and the biggest offensive weapon on Indy? I disagree. After Manning, I'd have to guess Wayne personally. Dallas Clark benefits from the extra help that Harrison and Wayne get, and from working with one of the best QBs in NFL history.
I never said that, I don't feel that he is. Although yesterday, he came up big. Harrison out, Morehead out, Gonzalez the rookie in, so he performed when the defense had to know he would be a favorite target. He IS a nice weapon, and he has been great this season. Second leading receiver on the team this year, and has the most TD's for a receiver for Colts. He'd be good on any team.

I know man--it was the other poster that I originally responded to.

Nothing personal. Not sure why so many of us (including me) were crotchety yesterday after a win, but there was no need for me to add to it with profanity.
Apology accepted.

As for Dallas Clark, he is a decent pass catching tight end who benefits from the presence of two great wide receivers. Personally, I'd rather have Antonio Gates who is no doubt the man in the San Diego Chargers pass offense.

Living in Indy, I watch every Colts and every Pats game. Dallas Clark is a bad*ss. Ben Watson is a bad*ass. Both have tendencies to drop the ball every now and then, but I would put them right at the top of TE's in the league. I think Clark is one of the main reasons we brought in AD this year. We couldn't cover him in the AFCCG to save our lives. I mean come on, we had Eric Alexander on him.

I think we need to understand how great both teams truly are and just be glad that we aren't fans of the Falcons. November 4th is going to be the greatest regular season game of all time. Hands down.

First things first...........beating Dallas. Go PATS!!!!

I dont disagree with that. I dont see him being the best te in the game for that reason tho. One of the top no doubt. But to be the best you have to be an outstanding blocker also.

I would take clark in a second.

Fair enough. However, Dallas can make all the blocks he's asked to make. Just b/c blocking is not the strength of his game does not mean he cannot be the best TE in the league.

Witness Peyton Manning. IMO, he's the best qb in the game. However, he runs like I do, which is to say, like a cow on ice. But, he makes up for it in other area's, which is what makes him the best.

Same with Dallas. When you factor in all phases of his game, his speed, toughness, smarts, and route-running, it more than makes up for his pedestrian blocking skills.

IMO, of course.

Nice post, I agree, except for the beating Dallas thing (which I think you will do)
