Cyrus Jones waived!

You just know he muffed that punt for no reason other than that Belichick was in the building.

Was he waved at power level 10 for five minutes?

C ya, Cyrus!

Currently not in the NFL.
But he was so there is absolutely no way he was a bust! A fringe NFL player drafted in the second round is definitely not a bust!

Jokes aside, Jones has averaged 9.4 yards per punt return on 12 returns. 4th best in the league for those with 10 returns or more. If he could just hang onto the ball . . .

Thing is, even a guy like that should be financially set for life if he's been smart with his money.
That's a big IF as most young people don't know how to plan well.

Don't feel bad for any of them ...
They make enough money in one year to buy a house for cash ...

Over his career, he will have earned more than $3.5 million. Pretty good work if you can get it.

Lighten up, Francis.

So I guess we're putting you down for a "no" for the workout?

I would say no. Complete bust and always seemed immature to me.

Yeah, he's done. Seems like a total failure of confidence on the professional level. I hope he can handle his post-playing career well.

SIGN THE BEAST.

Right? He's a player on another team so we have to give him a look right? Grass is always greener, etc etc.

damn. he would have really helped the pats if he stayed with the ravens. the virus is real.

Maybe saban can hire him and turn him into a decent secondary coach or special teams coach.

How the Patriots watched this kid play in 2014 and said to themselves “this is it, chief” is beyond me. He might have legitimately been the worst CB I have seen play for Saban since he’s been at Alabama.

Wish I could earn $3M to drop balls....pause

"on 12 returns" tells you why a dedicated punt returner with no value anywhere else is an incredibly dumb use of a roster spot

What are you suggesting...?

If all you need is a guy to run back a punt 10 yards the one time per game he gets a clean return, and otherwise just needs to catch it, keeping a specialist around is a waste of an active spot.
