Crowd chanting "Let's go Red Sox"

Listen, I know your not a Sox fan so this isn't going to matter anyways since your clearly out of your mind ...

I was more thoughtfully psychoanalyzed earlier by another poster. Please reference that, and my reasoned response, before jumping to conclusions.

Also, there is no salary cap in baseball but your going to criticise the Sox for using their resources that the rules allow them.

Not at all. I merely suggested that if the Boston baseball team doesn't seriously challenge for a championship every year, as the No. 2 payroll team in all of professional sports, someone isn't doing their job. In other words, title runs should be EXPECTED of this team, year in and year out by simple virtue of how much money it spends, not how good its organization is or how well it manages/coaches up talent.

My tongue-in-cheek point being: The owners of Boston's baseball team buy their championships at the bank, as in, the second-highest payroll in professional sports -- far outspending their competition (minus the Yankees, of course).

The Patriots have no such financial advantage.

Point taken.

And, all I can say is, man, am I glad my team is owned by someone with those financial resources, and supported by fans (and sponsors) who are also willing to pay the financial price...my tickets to last nights ALCS game 7 were 95 bucks each.

I don't make the rules, nor does John Henry, etc...we just play by them...

I betcha they put images or video of the Red Sox on the jumbotron this Sunday to whoop up the crowd.
why in the world would they need to do that when you have a team like the pats, if thats what you need i suggest you stay home, as mo vaughn said, "boston fans are stupid, stupid"save the sox cheers for fenway, you didnt hear broncos fans last night chanting for the rockies, they get it, unfortunately there are alot of boston fans that dont get, it, lets see whats next chanting lets go pats at a celtics game?? people need to calm down and get a clue

FYI...baseball is the least predictable sport of all the majors. Even with the best money can buy, there's no guarantees or "should be's".

Yankees fans can all attest to that.

This is definitely a mountain from a mole hill . I was at the game yesterday. The chant started very late in the game for a very short pereiod in a very isolated area (ie it was not the whole stadium) and in the context of the game it was almost like whoever was doing it was doing it to generate some energy as we waited for the clock to run down. Anyone who has sat in that stadium knows it gets HOT. By late in the fourth quarter all us who stayed to the end were wilting. I thought it was funny. On another note SoCalBong and his wife stopped by our tailgate and we had a fun chat. Reiss was on my flight back this morning to Logan. I high fived him at the terminal. I was suprised how small he is. All in all an awesome time. We had seats next to the tunnel and tried to get some gloves thrown to us as the players were leaving but to no success. Borg if that was you in front of us that was me high fiving your son after the TD's. Go Pats !

I'm a Patriots fan and a Red Sox fan although the Patriots are my clear priority. I'm also a Celtics and Bruins fan. I was at the Dolphns game. IMO, it shows a total lack of respect for the Patriots.

Screw the sox, its Pats first for me ...

If that's how you want to take it you're welcome to. But people who don't intend to disrespect - and I'm sure these fans weren't trying to disrespect the Pats - aren't, well... disrespectful. Except in the minds of a few people who take things personally. I'm sure the Pats understand that the region is in a bit of a frenzy right now; I don't think there are any hurt feelings on the part of the team.

I have no reason to take it personally. I don't play for the Patriots, nor did I sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night. Actually I slept where the Patriots did for the Miami game. Anyway. IMO, it's almost as ignorant as the Yankee's suck chant.

Even the Miami fans? Ok, you got me, I just thought people were being uptight, but if the Miami fans thought so...

Let me put it this way, I'd never be involved in a Red Sox chant at a Pats game, but I don't see myself caring either way. If that's what kept people awake and drinking, all the power to them.

I don't drink and I sleep very well. Your replies don't change that it's a stupid thing to do at a football game.

BB opened his presser today with a congrats to the BoSox...

12 and 54 both mentioned the Sox today on WEEI, and both commented on how excited they are right now for the fans of the region.

Tom Brady said... "It’s a great time to be a fan around here."

Bruschi said... "To all you fans out there... just sit back and enjoy this time. We are going to do everything we need to do to prepare every week. The Red Sox are going to the World Series, the Celtics have a nice team ready to go, and I think that's great for the fans around here. I hope all you guys enjoy this. I’m real happy for the fans."

Didn’t sound like they were bothered too much by it... If anything, they sounded excited about it.

I think allot of the non "homegrown" Pats fans hate on the Sox because (and I HATE to pull this card), but if you did not grow up here you could never really understand.
