Crowd chanting "Let's go Red Sox"

Tunescribe is secretly obsessed with the Red Sox, which is why he has the most posts in this thread by a wide margin.

No, I'm not wrong. I've seen and heard Brady say -- when asked directly in a lockerroom interview about the Red Sox' playoff run a few years ago -- "I don't care about them. I care about the Patriots." He also has been quoted as being annoyed at the baseball chanting/cheering while the Pats are playing.

Perhaps he also said the things you claim, it would only be politically correct. Sounds like a PR-advised revisionist opinion, actually. But he's not the only one to have reacted negatively to this matter.

SOOOO.....WHAT? TOUGH CRAP FOR THE PATRIOTS!

We love them with all out hearts but we love us some Red Sox too...they'll get used to it!

I'm pretty sure they did it just to piss of Tunascribe.

I don't want to make a big deal out of this....but since it's now a thread my thoughts are this. I think that chant at a football game is ridiculous. It makes Patriot fans look and sound like complete yahoos. It’s almost as bad as the Yankees suck chant I used to hear in Foxboro. Save those chants for Fenway. It’s bad enough the Sox are on the front page of the Globe every time a Red Sox player farts. But chanting "Let’s Go Sox" at a Patriot game is disrespectful to the Patriot players and the organization.

Man, what's wrong with a little city spirit? I think its great...too bad for the players if they don't like it. They just have to deal with the fact that this this IS a baseball town. Especially on the day that Game 7 of the ALCS will be played in Boston. I'm sure that if the situation could be reversed, if the AFC title game was played on the day of some meaningless Sox blowout, there would be a good deal of Pats gear in the stands, and maybe even a chant or two.

Once again...who cares how the Patriots "FEEL"? They're not a bunch of over-sensitive women! (sorry ladies!)

This message is hidden because Tunescribe is on your ignore list.
Why can't you stop talking about the Red Sox?

You have twice as many posts in this thread as any Sox fan.

Butt out Porky, I'm on your ignore list. Kindly put me back on it, please.

What an odd question. You don't care how the Patriots feel about fan support? Of course it matters. Otherwise, they wouldn't perform in stadiums packed with people.

LETS GO RED SOX!!!!!!!!!

Seriously though, why is this a big deal. A lot of Patriot fans are also Sox fans. Its a great day to be a fan of both teams and who cares if some fans want to celebrate?

It was actually determined that this is NOT a big deal. It is now FACT and no longer debateable!

Thank you, Zoo, for being a voice of reason and integrity. You da man.

If the Sox are up 8-1 in the ninth I don't expect a "Let's go Patriots" chant to break out at Fenway tonight. Again, save the chants for baseball games.

Did anyone stop to think that perhaps some of the New England retirees in the stands were confused and thinking they WERE watching the Red Sox?

It's south Florida people....show some sensitivity for the elderly!

Bingo!:rocker:

You don't read much, do you? And if you can't understand why cheering for baseball at a football game makes those fans sound like bandwagoners, you need a remedial course in general comprehension.

Tunescribe, I don't get it either. It's a regional thing. The game was in the bag, the New England fans there had a chance to blow their horns about the success of our local teams to a TV audience....it's all good in my book.

Gloating in Miami, in any form, works for me

The cheers should've ALL been about the Patriots. Save the Red Sox chants for the Red Sox game. There were plenty of props to spread around to the Patriots w/out running out of material and turning to Sox chants today. And, once again, I'm NOT a Red Sox hater. I did hear the "Randy" and "Brady" and general LOUD pro-Pats chants and that's awesome. I'm sure the team appreciated the road-lovin'.

I've been thinking about it, and I do see where Tunescribe is coming from, but still disagree with him that the chant is disrespectful to the team. Let's reverse scenarios here and say that during the Red Sox game tonight, in a tight game in the 5th inning, a chant of "Lets go Pats" starts up. I can definitely see this being disrespectful to the team, especially because the Red Sox are in a POSTSEASON game while the Patriots are in the middle of the regular season.

However, lets say that the Red Sox are in the middle of the regular season and the Pats are in the postseason (I know this cannot happen but lets be hypothetical here), and at the end of a Red Sox game with the game in hand, the crowd starts a "Let's go Pats" chant the day before the Patriots play Indy in the AFC Championship game. I see this as no disrespect to the Red Sox and just shows the passion of New England fans.

My point is that the Red Sox are in game 7 of the ALCS, a huge reason for fans to cheer, and I just can't see the Patriots players being angry about fans cheering for them, with no reason to be so.

what?? that IS a baseball game!

Why would they cheer for the Patriots when they're not in the playoffs? The sox are one game away from the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP...WAKE UP BRUDDAH! I'll cheer them on at Celtics, Patriots and Pop Warner games! I'm a Red Sox fan like all us Patriots fans are!

And again we have declared these cheers as OK. So it's done...debate O-VAH!

AMEN! what you have written is the truth. Not just your opinion but honest to goodness TRUTH!

THANKS!

Didn't the Patriots Pro Shop sell a shirt after the 2004 World Series that had the Red Sox and Pats championships on it?

Go Sox!
