You can't. How else do you check for side effects?

What good is vaccinating millions if many have adverse reactions?
They're still testing but they can still fast track it.

I have a manager who said that the virus is a ploy to discredit Trump he honest to God Believes it horrifying to say the least.
Maybe the press is but thats a bit much.

Im not sure what the solution is. Maybe this whole world economy is a bad idea. Maybe unlimited travel for all people on earth needs to be reconsidered. When something in one country can destroy everything else maybe the system needs to be evaluated. Im not proposing we let people die but this will put thousands if not millions of folks out of work and out of business. There is a cost to that for years to come. I hope people smarter than us have a plan.

Or shoot the dumb.

We won’t need to shoot those idiots, hopefully. The virus will wipe them out. Same with lIbErAl aNd FrEe millennials who decided it was a great idea to buy a $200 plane ticket to Europe.

The smarter people don't have as much power as the greedy people do.

There are three ways I'm aware of to "fast track" it. One is to not do as much safety testing, which is pretty scary. The last thing we need in this country is a vaccine recall after a rash of bad reactions.

The second is to begin manufacture before the safety testing is done, on the assumption that the testing is going to come out OK. That's just a financial risk, which in this case is probably inconsequential to the larger goal.

The third way is to push computer modeling ahead of some of the traditional animal testing, which from what my biotech connections have told me, is a decade overdue, but hard to accomplish in a "business as usual" context because nobody wants to be associated with the risk.

Note: I could very well be inaccurate or incomplete in this analysis.
They do need to test it enough to make sure that it doesn't make things worse.

Fed easing is not money "gifted" to Wall St. Smh at the propagation of financial illiteracy (even worse than the usual).

There are idiots on both sides. Go look at social media and watch how many people are happy about this because there is a belief that it hurts Trump’s re-election campaign. Read that again - there are people posting that they’re happy other people are dying because it hurts Trump’s re-election chances. I’m not sure if you’ve noticed this or not, but we’re not exactly the smartest country on the face of the planet.

Terrifying

If they choose option 3, as a software developer, I'd pass on that vaccine.

LOL. I hear ya - been there.

I think the QC on those calculations is a bit more rigorous than what you are used to. They've been working on this for a long time, and it is primarily led by very, very good scientists who are largely self-taught on software, because it is so easy for them.

One of them joining a dinner doubles the IQ total at the table.

I did noticed that the press was respectful toward Trump today and not talking over each other. I take that as a good sign. We need to work together and stop the divisions.

If I were in the Trump campaign, US based or overseas, that's exactly the kind of posting I'd put up as a way to keep the base outraged, and feed the beast at Fox.

And if you think I'm being outrageous to suggest that's what they are doing, you've been had.

I have to deal with a family member convinced that the virus is a biological attack from China. The stupidity and desire to believe everything is a conspiracy is incredibly frustrating.

One dude near the end was a prick. The one asking how donny would grade his own response.

But really, can ya blame him?

That's the choice, save some lives or kill the economy
Once the death count goes up it will go up for all ages. At that point the economy is dead anyway, might as well at least save some lives.

Face it. Football isn't happening this year, or if it does, it will be with a truncated schedule and reduced or no fans.

CNBC:
President Donald Trump said Monday that the U.S. may be able to get the new coronavirus outbreak under control by July or August at the earliest.

Trump, speaking to reporters in the White House briefing room, also said his administration may look at lockdowns for “certain areas” or “hot spots” in the nation. But the president said he wasn’t considering a full national lockdown. “At this moment, no, we’re not,” Trump said.
