I think it’s virtually impossible to separate most conservatives from Trump. He is now the face of the GOP and controls the party. And you may think that you’re appealing to “their better judgment” in assuming that most conservatives also find Trump somewhere between annoying and repulsive, but you’re just projecting that. Most republicans see Trump as either a good president or easily the better of two evils, and any criticism could easily be redirected and magnified towards the liberal candidates.

Just my observation, which is why I suspect you tend to get negative feedback from conservatives. It’s like a fan of coming on this board to talk about how Brady is a cheater but they respect the Patriots and like the team. It’s not going to sit well when you directly attack the most recognizable and important member of the group and then try to say you’re not against the group.

Re-read my post and any others under the same theme: not once have I bashed anyone for being a conservative. I'm not trying to "appeal" to anyone either, just telling it like I see it and would expect to take flak from those who feel otherwise. But I certainly think you can differentiate between conservative ideology (much of which I embrace) and the current administration -- they overlap but are not synonymous.
