Just thinking a little (I know, dangerous ) and I made a mental connection between Rodney's suspension and two things:

1) Rodney's salary reduction
2) NE's willingness to give Asante the no-tag clause.

I honestly believe that NE has known about this for some time and this suspension was a factor in both decisions.

I welcome your thoughts.

Rodney's pay reduction, yes. But IMO the Asante issue was independent of Rodney.

I buy the more-than-just-a-possibility of BOTH things.

Reasonable theory. But how does it include a "conspiracy"? No conspiracies here as far as I can see. You just added that to make it sound more dramatic.

If you want conspiracy theory ... how about this:

Investigators were paid off to include a NFL representative when they
questioned Rodney but never told Rodney their was an NFL rep present.

Belichick wouldn't have started Harrison against the Panthers if it was likely he was going to be suspended. Also if HGH is a controlled substance then Harrison could face criminal charges. His career may be effectively over.

From the reports I've heard he had a prescription for it, written by the people who were under investigation. Correct me if I'm wrong but he hasn't broken any federal laws, only NFL ones.

Except that Harrison had a prescription for it. I'd be surprised if there were criminal charges. Especially after Merriman got off without anything.

I doubt that there are way to many people that have already been caught and there are no charges except for the suppliers

The substance Merriman took was banned by the NFL but was not illegal.

HGH is not a "controlled substance."
