Congrats Revis and Moving Forward

With all seriousness, congrats to Revis for this contract. He deserves the $ after this season for playing out the contract, but the Jets are fools for such a high guaranteed amount. Revis has a history of injuries, as we all know, and convention says that he won't be the same these next few seasons due to age and wear and tear. Sometimes you live by the sword and sometimes you die, and the Patriots made out like bandits this past season with Revis's deal and a Super Bowl. If anything, we should think fondly about getting the guy for a bargain and then not being stupid enough to sell the farm for one player. Now, the priority becomes upgrading across the board on the defense: the linebackers are excellent, but we need a few new corners and a DT. Would trading up in the draft be an option? I might also take a chance on Jake Long.

ps. knowing the Jest, Revis will blow out his knee in week 6.

While I can't wish injury on revis, I may receive news of a season ender or two with a bit of chuden frued (apologize for the horrific spelling).

He does?

I agree with the rest of your post though. If someone said before last season that we could have Revis for one year and win the SuperBowl, I'd be fine with it obviously.

I'm just not looking forward to going back to the bend not break defense that makes lousy QB's look like the second coming of Joe Montana (or Brady?). The offense having to put up 35+ points a game to win is way too much to ask for an aging Brady.
