It looks like Davis' knee injury is such that he needs surgery. Not sure what type, but the early reports are that it will be season ending.. However, not all knee surgeries are such. As we've seen around the league recently.

Wishing Davis the best and a speedy recovery.

Ugh. That sucks. Core STer

Smith had been a key member of the Bills’ special teams units since joining the team in 2020. He played 68% of the special-teams snaps last season and was third in tackles with 10. He did not see any defensive snaps last year as one of the backups to starters Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano.

The Bills ranked No. 2 in kickoff return average allowed last year and No. 3 in punt return average allowed.

He may interest Bill and Co., for his ST skills.

Maybe, but I have to imagine someone with a LB build plays a different role on special teams compared to Davis. We already essentially did a one for one replacement by signing that Webb rookie off the Ravens PS.

Sign him and dump Munson or Collins

He is definitely not in Davis’ league athletically but Bill already has said that it will take multiple players to fill all of the ST roles that Davis filled for the team. He certainly has seen enough of him on film during game prep over the last two years.

Note: He visited the Jets already but not signed.
