Bill got rid of Richard Seymour after the first half of the dynasty and they didn't win another SB for years. Then he dumped Brady, Gronk, Gilmore and Thuney and the team fell faster than a lead balloon. Dumping stars doesn't win anything.
Yeah ideally. You have a team full of B's and then a few A's at key positions including QB. Pats used to be good they never had some mediocre trash tier units. Usually the biggest weak point was still a decent challenge for the opposing team.
I get the point about not being lopsided. You don't want a piece of trash team but then have Stafford and Johnson as studs and then try to compensate that way. But the answer isn't to give up on stars either. Who was the last team to win a Super Bowl without some sort of super elite talent.
