So basically, we are all saying that I really don't know ANYTHING about Barmore's condition, but I feel compelled to say categorically that "his career is over, AND in case I haven't said it before in every thread I've posted, Mayo and his staff suck"

That is what I got from reading thread which I opened hoping to find if there was more detailed information about Baremore's condition. Instead, I got another dose of negativity that seems to be the only thing that is available on this site anymore.
Come join the rest of us in the pit of despair!

I'm not a Doctor, but I have stayed at Holiday Inn's!
I'm only an armchair Doctor on the internet.

Does your wife and Doctor friends think had Barmore taken more time off that his situation could've been different or was his reoccurrence inevitable?

I disagree because he has Maye. Should have 4 or 5 wins. They’ve scored a decent amount of points but the defense can’t stop a nosebleed.
We won 4 games last year with the worst qb situation in the NFL. We added a good qb and had 100,000,000 to spend to improve the roster and we will win 3 games.
Knowing what Maye is, this team should be competing for a playoff spot if they didn’t have he worst off season of the FA era.

I’m open to discussing all of the positives if you can find any.

Given the current state of the NFL being the worst season since 2008, they may have had a chance. However, the coaching is that bad and would've held them back.

David Andrews missed an entire season with blood clots. So, not sure this is a career ender.....maybe just an abundance of caution thing? I hope...
My understanding is if he needs to be on blood thinners due to re occurring blood clots, he can’t play football. But just speculation right now what specifically is going on

Well, they do believe that he definitely was brought back way too soon. Among other factors. And my friends sister who's an M.D. worked with Military Fighter and Test Pilot's as a Civilian Contractor for a period of time as well. They're obviously not his care givers, but if his situation is unlike Andrews (one of the much more serious blood clot conditions), his career is over (especially for his own good/his life would depend on not playing). But, we'll have a much better idea by the time off season rolls around.

Did you watch the game on Sunday? And then you expected to visit PatsFans for positivity?

There are a lot of factors that can lead to blood clots in otherwise healthy people. My bride had a rough go with blood clots due to a Protein C deficiency caused by a metabolic problem. TIA's were brutal, we almost lost her a couple of times. I have no doubt Barmore will recieve the very best of care and hopefully they can get a handle on it.
Sorry about the TIAs. Must have been awful.

I'll be happy to that. I am aware that things aren't looking very good this last quarter of the season. It's just that I expected this kind of results even if they weren't hit with so many key injuries. No time now, but, I'll be happy to DM you and have that discussion

It’s not just that. They spent a decent amount of money keeping Bill’s defensive roster from 2023 intact and then got Gonzo back too, who Bill didn’t have last year. They kept Mayo, Covington, Pellegrino and Brian Belichick from that defensive coaching staff, among others. You’d think the defense would have stayed consistent or at least only dipped slightly. Instead they’re one of the league’s worst and can’t get off the field, can’t rush the passer, can’t stop the run, can’t defend the pass outside Gonzo, can’t tackle.

Thank you, it was horrific and the road back was tough on her. Tough on the whole family really but we got the best result we could have hoped for. There's a very slight hitch to her step and a couple of small memory holes but she's fully ambulatory now and largely back to her delightful feisty self. Thank God. I knew she'd turned the corner when she started questioning my judgement over beating up my body riding the motorcycle in cold weather to visit her along with giving me hell for what I was probably eating without her close supervision (she wasn't wrong, the red meat, fried and/or spicy food consumption was def excessive). TBH I sorta rattled around the place a bit while she was in the hospital / physical rehab facility. We've been together so long I'm not really sure where I stop and she starts. You live almost your entire adult life with someone that can happen

Glad everything is almost back to normal.

I ride a Harley and sometimes eat junk too. My GF complains as well, so I take 3 months a year to not drink and lose weight. Makes me feel good about myself.

Good on ya, riding keeps us young(ish).

I've got a few bikes in the stable, the collection is eclectic. My pride and joy is a Norton Commando I originally purchased as a literal basket case (half the parts were in old steel milk crates) in the 70's and have been tinkering with on and off ever since. It's a seat of the pants beast and a genuine blast to ride but hard on the old and oft repaired bones After recovering from getting badly nailed on my Fat Boy by a 'little old lady' who mistook her Buick's gas for the brake backing out of a blind driveway directly into me, my daily ride shifted to one of my Gold Wings to take it easier on the ortho repairs with reverse available. I still get out on the other bikes from time to time but not as often as I'd like and I pay for it afterwards. Never entirely giving up that Norton though

I'm fairly good about my choices in snacks, I'm fine with fruit and nuts as opposed to all out **** food. My 'junk food' eating is largely confined to fried seafood and ofc onion rings. The bride has a wider idea of what constitutes my unsupervised 'bad eating' habits, including red meat and the spicy stuff I love but that hates me fall into her definition. God help me, I love a good steak as well as Tex-Mex, Korean and Thai food but it all positively loathes my old man digestive system. The indignities of age I guess

I am an engineer so more of a performance guy. I have a Harley V-rod, I think it is the best bike ever built. The Japanese and German bikes are too light, I like a solid metal frame and lots of weight. The V-rod is a water cooled V-twin designed by Porsche and put in production by Harley. The bike comes out of 1st gear at 60mph and it is only a 1250. No other Harley or bike like it. A cruiser and racer in one. I bought it in 2008 and never have done any maintenance on it in 16 years other than brakes, tires, change the oil, etc. Amazing bike. The Harley guys would not buy it because it was quiet, cool, no vibrations, and screaming fast. I love it which proves I am outside the mainstream, I like things others don't. Go figure.

Sam Cunningham is a Doctor and he said that Barmore playing on blood thinners would not be safe.
