I'm confident because I believe in this defense, and I believe that even under Brissett we are better team offensively. A middling offense day 15th would be good enough to win say 8,9 games. This team isn't a push over. Brissett will throw it way it the play isn't there not to the other team like Mac or Zapp.Given the value of the importance of being strong in the middle of the DL for say 30 plays a game vs having a very good, but aging and somewhat undependable WR is something I would do 100 times out of 100.
We don't need that #1 WR THIS year to make Jacobi look better. We need him NEXT year for Drake. And next year will be a good one for FA WR'S
The timing is right to enable the team to add a missing piece or two to once the foundation is in place. This is an important point. The goal of this season should be creating the impression that THIS is a team that is "on the upswing".
Wins, IMHO are less important than being seen as being well coached and, more importantly, COMPETITIVE., even with a somewhat less than ideal roster.
If they just do that, then this will be a place where FA's will be willing to come to.
How much of that is the addition of Mayo and the removal of Mac?Wow! Thats great news on 2 fronts. You keep an essentially piece and yet another defender who is happy to stick around here. Really getting the sense that the locker room morale aint as bad as one would expect from a season like last year and the boys are ready to turn things around!
If he agreed on a cheap deal, maybe he is planning to not put forth the effort? That’s the worry, right? Goes back to having nagging injuries, reduced snaps, low motivation. If he can turn in some more seasons like last year though? What a ****ing deal!!
Higgins and Aiyuk could still be trying to shoot their way out of their respective towns as well.I was pretty confused when Wolf and Co. left so much money on the cap after the FA frenzy
They have been quietly signing next years potential FA’s crop (Patriot players). You get a better deal on them because they never hit the market. Builds a good family atmosphere.
It also frees up a lot of cap space next year to fill holes.
I still think we will stay active and get someone like Gilmore. Hopefully a LT camp casualty.
I thought Barnmore was the #1 target. Glad they got it done
Im in as long as it is not a next years first rounder.Y

Not keen on spending a high future pick in 2025.Y

Since we are on an expected multi-year rebuild, I would be against spending future draft capital now.Im in as long as it is not a next years first rounder.
I still think we will be picking pretty high next year
None.Gotta wonder how many of these extensions would have gotten done if BB was here.
