Chris Simms: Not A Top-Five Species

If you want to only put Brady in the 3 or 4 best quarterbacks of all time category, I will at least listen to the argument you want to make.

Anyone that puts Brady below 5 of today's current quarterbacks is simply trolling for attention or clicks.

Its that simple (in my opinion).

Chris Simms?

I wonder what the circumstances were under which he departed the Pats coaching staff.
Not sure, but if you read the MMQB piece, he says he liked it here, but didn't like being away from his family. He raves about BB, saying he's the smartest person he's ever known, so I'm guessing the parting was amicable, but who knows? What he doesn't mention is his relationship with Brady. Anyway, it's hard to believe he was here for 3 years, witnessed everything Brady did and really believes he's not top 5.

Just more sh% t for him to eat when TB12 wins another bowl this year.

Chris Simms must be smoking crack because Brady is in the discussion for the MVP, given what he's been doing. One can make a cogent argument that he's still the best in the league, by a wide margin. Let alone top 5.

I did not know Chris Simms was with the Patriots office staff for three years. Having seen Brady at close quarters for so long and to conclude he is not that great is revealing. I wonder what led him to that conclusion. Rothlisberger over Manning and Brady?

He's entitled to his opinion. Brady doesn't need defenders. This isn't eighth grade.

this is AMAZING! Wonderful! All this MVP talk never really did anything for TB. Diss him, tell him he ain't any good and he just hulks out and rips the heart out of the opposition teams. The Colts, and all those who follow, will lament Simms' words. Heck, I won't be surprised if BB asked Simms to say it to light the fire under TB again.

I'm guessing 12 TDs in 2 games might have done it. You know, the old "last thing I've seen is the only thing that matters" syndrome.

Gotta wonder if daddy opened a few doors for him... other than that just another NFL has been...terrible injury though.

His best year, 2006, he had a QB rating of 61.. but he probably got a lot of twitter followers and facebook likes for uttering his garbage.

He is trying to be as insightful and wise as Trent Dilfer....

Aaron Rodgers? I don't agree with it, but it's a reasonable argument. Hes incredible.

Peyton?...We all know TB12 is better (see CHFF article)but again, a reasonable argument can be made.

Ben? Uh, no.

Russel Wilson? Nice career going so far but no.

Luck...see Wilson.

Three things are potentially apparent with Simms' comments.
1) Hes an idiot.
2) He has a completely different evaluation system of QBs than most people
3) Hes an over the top contrarian who is trying to create a buzz and get out from daddy's shadow.

Definitely an indication that the many concussions Simms incurred during his playing career have affected his long term health. Or he's an ******* like his father.

4) He's succumbed to the Miasma of NYC that eventually taints all sportscasters who spend too much time there.

Chris Simms' print copy is destined for a bulletin board or a courtesy flush.

First he's guilty of driving while stoned ...

Now he's guilty of talking while stoned.

Well, if anyone should know it is Chris Simms, his daddy was a good Quarterback.

Chris Simms also at the start of the season didnt have Brees or Brady in his top 5 instead had Kap an said quote, "I dont care about any statistics, accuracy, touch, he has a big arm" Dudes a tool.
