I was sitting in a sports bar in NJ watching the Cinny vs Pats game and the guy next to me say Hogan is a great guy. I say, how do you know and he says he was the assistant coach at Monmouth University and he coached Hogan. Wow small world. He has been terrific this season so far.

Hogan is probably the reason this offense will end up as our best unit since 2007.

While the 2011-2012 teams were loaded (Gronk, Hernandez, Welker + Branch or Lloyd), great defenses like the Ravens could flood the middle of the field. They almost beat us in two AFC Championships due to no deep threat.

Hogan is a guy that may need double teams due to his speed but the defense can't afford it with the TE duo & Jules on the field.

Offense is currently at 34 PPG since Brady's return. Dion Lewis would probably push them up to 07 Pats/13 Broncos range.

Hes not a speed merchant but he does two things pretty damn well it seems to me.

Doesn't allow the DB to physically muscle him around in the first 15 yards. Thats due to his size and strength.

Runs good fakes and gets the DB to bite.

I'm glad hes here.

How often do we hear that the Patriots are only a dink and dunk offense? Yet two of the top three guys halfway through the season are Patriots.

Also, I was pretty high on Coates in the draft. BB worked him out personally. Wish we'd snagged him, but he would have been behind Hogan, and I still have hopes for Mitchell.

What a difference having a receiver capable of threatening the middle-deep makes...

Wat do you expect from a guy who is open 24/7

All true but he does have good straight line speed and hands as well. Though for him it is a number of things that make him effective as opposed to just pure speed guys.

Hands are very good.

He is fast...just not Willie Gault fast

Didn't someone point out that his measurables are comparable to DeAndre Hopkins, or was that just a sexy dream I had?

They are not far apart build wise but Hopkins looks faster to me and more athletic.

No kidding huh? They finally get their hands on someone who legitimately threatens the back end routinely and it opens up the entire field, and the offense totally evolves.

I can't wait for Dion to get back...

Agree but some of the hits he takes are brutal. I'd like to see the kid learn how to get down before he ends up concussed.

That too. Needs to learn how to fall better. Brady is gifted in that regard.
