Chop Blocks Banned

Just because they're banning the chop block doesn't mean the refs will actually call them on it. Denver's allowed to hold at will, I assume they will still be allowed to chop block as well.

Good point.

It's about time. The downside is that there's going to be even more penalties called, disrupting the flow of gameplay even more. On the bright side, it makes room for more commercials.

As an interesting aside, there is actually a contractual limit on the number of commercial breaks that can be taken during each half of an NFL game (this is why they typically don't go to commercial break at all during the last few minutes of a half).

Peyton's gone, though. . . .

Looking forward to the thread "tackles banned"

Number of commercial breaks, not number of commercials.

Does that mean the Broncos cheated to win their championships? Retroactive rule enforcement engaged.

Did the Ravens' "we're still too stupid to understand an ineligible receiver formation so here's ANOTHER rule limiting it" pass?

Note that only chop blocks were banned, not cut blocks. (Chop block = blocking below the waist while player being blocked is engaged with another blocker. Cut block = blocking low in a 1-on-1 situation.) So DEN is still in business.

Does that mean they stood looking around while they should have been blocking? Because I remember that well from the AFCCG.
You've got the right idea. It's when the defender runs right past the offensive lineman, so he yells "LOOK OUT!!!!" to the QB.
