Chip Kelly to be fired - (MOD UPDATE: He's Been Fired)

Don't want him anywhere near this team.

I believe it was a radio talk show on Sirius...I don't recall which one.

After googling it I may have been remembering the Bo Davis situation and the other self reported violations subsequent.

Yeah I looked it up, does not seem like anything serious to leave over, atleast on the surface

Chip to the Jags would be intriguing

Agree that chip is better, I actually think Chip is in a certain way a good coach, I think hell prove that in the nfl if he gets a fair chance. to add to your list, Saban and Ferentz come from the BB tree and have had success in college. Jim schwartz and Al Groh are two other failed assistants. Jury is still out on BOB though
Groh worked for parcels not BB.

Tough to blame a GM for having all your young talent shockingly retire seemingly months a part.
You can blame him for terrible drafts poor free agency and forcing harbaufh out the door because he wanted to take credit himself. And of course for a horrific job replacing him.
I think 2 players (one who actually had taken the others place) retired.

I don't think Chip will get a HC gig this year. And when a team interviews Coughlin before firing there HC that makes a big statement. I thin Coughlin ends up in Jax.

For some reason I thought it was the Yorks that wanted Jim gone. But yeah fair enough.

Baalke feuded with harbaugh and it mostly was about baalke saying harbaugh didn't deserve top pay because baalke handed him a team and deserved the credit.

You sure, couldve sworn in that Cleveland 95 documentary they mentioned Groh being on that staff
Well he was there for a year then went back to parcells as DC.
Certainly not "BB tree".

Hmm interesting. Thought he was in cleveland longer. but he was still an assistant to Bb when Bb was a head coach so I was right about that

Why? Chip needs to go back to college and stay away from this team.
I think Chip has value. Especially if Josh leaves.

Do we have supreme confidence in Daboll? I'm 50/50

I don't disagree. But heard some grumbling that he was thinking about getting back in the league and that there is or might be an investigation into the Bama program.

Ah. Well that adds a little more meat to the story.

I think he's a good college coach, I don't believe his system can work in the pro's. I think Pro coaches have to be adaptable and Kelly's system and approach lack that adaptability. I also think his system relies upon having a big advantage in athleticism and you don't get that advantage in the pro's, everyone gets basically the same caliber of athletes and it becomes a matter of what you can get out of those pieces instead of just being bigger, faster, and better.

I couldn't disagree more. Chip Kelly has an NFL mind. He developed a great strategy for winning in college that blew away the college competition.

He didn't have the best athletes; He had athletes well below the top tier - and he made his program look world-class. Oregon is not a place where top football prospects go to school; they are not even in the top 25 for top recruits.

In Philadelphia, a 10-6 record is a good record not a fireable offense. Does he need to adjust better to the NFL? Yes, it will take some time. But thinking wise, he has the mindset of an NFL coach, not the mindset of a college coach. He's not a recruiter. He's a schemer.

Even if it's difficult, I expect he'll find a way to stay in the NFL and eventually succeed.

I do not like Daboll at all but he would be light years better than chip Kelly
