CHFF: Open letter to BB

Re: CHFF:Open letter to BB

Here’s the problem, coach: the reaction to the 2006 AFC title game defeat was absolutely the wrong reaction

35 SECONDS AWAY FROM BEING THE GREATEST TEAM OF ALL-TIME WAS THE RESULT OF THE REACTION, BAD LUCK PREVENTED THAT FROM BECOMING A REALITY.

Ridiculous.

We were in the position to win the big games and that's all you can ask for, beyond that it comes down to a few plays and luck.

Re: CHFF:Open letter to BB

The defence failed on one big drive two years ago in the superbowl. They were great agianst Jacksonville and San Diego in that playoffs (in fact, they won the SD game). The defence got alitte old at linebacker and crapy in the secondary by chance this year; not because BB didnt focus on defence. After we trade cassel (and not for Tony G, the offence is fine) we will have two 1st and a combo of 5 2nd or 3rd round picks. Through the draft BB will fix the defence and we will revert to the way we were two years ago. The best offence in the league and a top 5 defence in the league. The best team doesnt always win and it didnt that year. It happens. We will win this year. So how about instead of trying to have either a good offence or a good defence, we just have both. That formula will always work.
ps. He states how we missed the playoffs this year. We lost the best QB in the history of the league and went 11-5. I have a feeling were doing somthing right.

Open Letter to Byrne,

Shut your pie hole. You sound like a clown. Arizona , like last year's Pats, was one play from winning the Superbowl.....

LOL - best post of the day.

Re: CHFF:Open letter to BB

Things will be a lot better now that McKID is gone. Since he came here we've been obsessed with offense with our high picks and with money

McDaniels isn't the one pulling the trigger on trades, FA signings, or draft picks. He also learned much of what he knows from the Patriots, and was with the team from around the time Belichick came to town.

I thought Groundhog Day was over....but things just keep repeating themselves.

Re: CHFF:Open letter to BB

He was a huge part of the drafting process/influence from 05 onward, lots of articles mentioning how he met with [x] player or signeee, who ended up joining.

Re: CHFF:Open letter to BB

McKid sucked.

Remember when he was the offensive coordinator of the greatest offense of all-time?

Re: CHFF:Open letter to BB

Yet another thread hijacked to bash a guy who's not even with the team anymore......

Least accurate post ever?

Re: CHFF:Open letter to BB

Imagine how much different the article would be if the following occurred:

"Tuck Rule" not overturned.

Troy Brown not called for bogus offensive pass interference in the 2007 AFCCG in Indy.

Facemask called against Giants on the miracle catch.

A few facts:

SB 36/38 were tied up late after our defense gave up late TD drives. It was the offense that won the game with late fg drives.

The defense has been top ten the last three years and I believe top 2 or 3 in 2006. If the offense was more functional in early 2006, we wouldn't have had the brutal 4 road games in 5 weeks which killed us in Indy in the second half.

The great Steelers Defense seems to have given up 23 points and 400 yards passing. Their offense bailed them out in the end. Did I mention that's the same defense TB goes through like crap through a goose?

You always want to upgrade. Duh? This whole "defense wins championchips" is complete cow dung. In SB 36/38, we couldn't stop them late, they couldn't stop us at the end. In SB 42, they didn't stop us late, we didn't stop them at the end. Ditto for last week.

The "defense wins championchips" works when you lead throughout. Refer to the Tampa Bay win for correct model.

Re: CHFF:Open letter to BB

I agreed with this, "Far be it for me to tell you how to run your football team".

Yeah, right after that it went downhill fast.
I love the first grader knowing what a magnet is thinking they can assess how well the nuclear physicist does their job.

What a pompous self-centered *****. BB had to rebuild the Offense first. Aand he did. The 2007 draft was spectacular not dismal. We got two pro-bowlers and a one of them is a HOFer. The other is the best slot receiver in the League. He is *****ing because the remaining 6th and 7th rounders didn't produce much. When do they ever get more than one from those draft positions?

BB started rebuilding the Defense after the Offense was taken care of, and rebuilt in to the Number 1 Offense in the League in 2007; and actually got even better balanced in 2008.

He added Meriwether in 2007, and then last year added Mayo, Crabel, Redd and Guyton. And also Wheatly and Willhite. This year he will add the finishing touches on the Defense. All this to go with the best 3-4 Defensive line in the League; and all under 30 years old.

Result... Juggernaut!

And this fool doesn't even recognize that its happened. Please take you own head out of your own rectum, Buddy. Or on second thought leave it there. It is where it belongs.:singing:

Well said my dude.

That letter is pathetic. THE PATRIOTS WON 18 games last year. They came within 2 minutes of the only 19-0 season in league history. They then lost their best player - arguably the league's best - and STILL managed to go 11-5 when most thought they'd be .500 or worse.

RIDICULOUS. Next?

In 2008 the Patriots of New England also lost 24 starters.

Re: CHFF:Open letter to BB

Please. If BB could have upgraded the defense, he would have. It's not like he eschewed signing defensive talent for Moss, Welker, Stallworth, or Morris. The Pats, as always, upgrade where they can, and do their best where they can't.

Seriously, which transactions (or non-transactions) have been errors at this point? None. The defense just isn't that good. That's because even mediocre defensive talent gets ripped away from the Pats for starting salaries.

The Patriots can't afford to overpay their players just because they are their players. Other teams overpay Pat's players just because they used to be on the Pats (Givens, Branch, Samuel, the list goes on).

I used to like CHFF, but now it just seems like he's reaching for things to say rather than drawing conclusions. I tend to see a lot more of the "Varitek could have made better contact" type comments rather than real analysis, and that makes me not want to read it as much.
X, I like your use of that word (eschewed). Just right. And yeah, a lot of pap, or fluff seems to be turning up in articles these days. Maybe writers are desperate in a something like publish or perish mode (fear of losing job) nowadays and write about anything to fill space. Belichick and the Patriots would have to make a lot of mistakes in the next few years before they'd average down to being just an average braintrust.

Why do people have to be idiots? We just need some emphasis on LBs and DBs and we have ammunition. Was that written in crayon?

Wow, you need to brush up on your Patriot Organizational Chart.

I would have respected (but not agreed with) the premise of this article if not for the unneccesarry BB bashing.

As long as readers allow themselves to get whipped up over the bombastic negative article writing formula pioneered by Borges and adopted by Massarotti et al, and now Byrne this type of crap writing will thrive.

Congratulations Byrne, your "BB has his head in his rectum" journalistic approach has everyone talking.
