Ughhh, it isnt very long until brady will be 40, if somehow JG is worth multiple first round picks you dont get rid of him. No one in the history of ever has won against time, I doubt even brady will be the first, you keep JG unless you want to risk ending up with **** like 2 geno smith's with your two firsts and every november for the next decade start looking forward to drafting a new qb with your next high first round pick .

I don't think sacks are the primary measuring stick of DE performance used by the Pats coaching staff.

Yeah, they definitely aren't. BB himself has said sacks are overrated.

Chandler's performance in another system isn't going to be a factor in determining if it was a successful trade. Chandler could set the single season sack record in Arizona but we all know what he would produce in our system. Chad Johnson was fantastic in Cincy but terrible here. Julian Edelman would be a STs only guy for a lot of teams (I doubt he would have found a way to thrive enough in other systems to produce like he has produced here)

Really it's a matter of trying to project Chandler's performance this year and weigh that against what we get from the guys here.

From Arizona's perspective, they are all in for a SB this year, because Calais Campbell is due for a new deal which will be Suh money and this is Fitzgerald's last year.

Even with his contract off the books, having 30 mil per tied up with only 2 defensive starters, is bad business. Chandler Jones will command Olivier Vernon money if he does 12+ sacks on a winning team. So, sort of a bad trade for Arizona for the future of that team, not to mention Palmer isn't getting any younger.

If they win it all, it looks like a genius trade, but the odds don't favor Arizona.

We can stick it to Roger if we 1) win another title, and 2) are able to parlay Jimmy Garappolo into multiple high first round picks (think RG III or latest Rams trade) because he plays so damn well during the suspension, where Jimmy G would have had no more value that Ryan Mallet did when wasting away on the bench. That's my dream scenario if this suspension proceeds. We get all our draft capital back and then some, which wouldn't have happened without DeflateGate, and we win another title.
