I’m not implying anything. I’m stating an unequivocal fact. Kickers score points, they protect field position. Kickers are important. You're implying GB was going to take Ryland in the 4th round. You have confirmation of that? Or you're just making things up to protect BB?
GB also took a K at the end of the 6th round. Which is fine. Ryland is not worth trading up for in the 4th round.
Once you find a good one you could go a decade or so before you draft another. When you lack one, a single season’s results can hinge on your ability to score points. You believe that magical QB’s and fantasy football skill positions are all that matter.. It’s a bad take.
No, they’re not close. So media rankings and team executive rankings are nowhere close to being similar? Is that your argument? I mean you say you have no clue where team executives actually rank prospects. So I don't see how you jumped to your conclusion.
Mel Kiper had Malik Willis as the top QB on his board last season, I’d bet my azz New England and many other teams didn’t even have him on their board.
This draft Tennessee drafted another QB in the second round, clearly Willis never should have been on theirs. That kid was an UDFA prospect at best, the media pushed him up in the minds of the susceptible.
More important? To a team that desperately needs a kicker they are very important. To a team that has an established kicker they’re less important. Kickers aren’t important… right up to the point you need someone to connect on a 40 yard field goal with seconds left on the clock in the playoffs and your season is on the line… then they’re the most important player on your entire roster. No **** Wozzy. But QB, WR, TE, RB, OL, DL, LB, DB are all more important. Sorry but trading up for a K in the 4th round is dumb. Or as someone else astutely pointed out... Belichick panicked.
Again…. fantasy football is not real football. Only a fool suggests it is. Adam Vinitieri had a large hand kicking off the Patriot dynasty. You have no clue where another team may have taken Ryland… none. Yet you keep pretending you do.The topic is the 4th round selection of Ryland. WTF do you think I'm talking about? And the fool here is you if you think this was a brilliant move by BB. Could have had Ryland or another similar K prospect in a later round.
