Celtics 2026-2027 Discussion

Veesaar, Reed or Cenac would be ok with me.
Carr is best player, if he’s still there, but not sure Brad takes him.
Good call on Cenac. I didn't know enough about him before but he is sounding like a nice blend between "need" and "best player available"

I've seen some say that he doesn't go to the basket hard enough though... I think that's more a question of him being so raw and just doing what he's comfortable with, but clearly he was deemed better than Veesaar, who, while is probably more NBA ready than Cenac, clearly slid quite a bit

I know some still wanted the Celtics to take him at #40 even with Cenac filling that draft slot - but I think if anyone thinks we're getting an NBA-Ready Center who can score and muscle their way around the paint at #27, they're kidding themselves.

Even Veesaar needs more time to develop - but I think we need to accept that Cenac won't be a contributor this year, being as raw as he is. I'd love for him to prove us wrong, but once he's bulked up and taught up we can see how his natural skills transform.

He's G-League for now which means they'll have to address Center - sadly, by trading Brown though I'm still pulling for them to keep him

Love White as well but I'd absolutely trade him for an effective center who can score in the paint

Maybe this is kinda anti-free market, but it’s not like the NBA doesn’t already regulate too much stuff with teams. So here’s what I think. The NBA should just limit how far our teams can trade their first round picks into the future. The league is really stupid right now with teams trading draft picks that are like 6, 7, 8 years away from now. Almost certainly the general manager will not be around for that long and in many cases, the owner won’t be either. It’s really dumb that you’re following a team that doesn’t have a first round pick for like four years because they traded for some guy nine years ago, who you barely remember. This is just a symptom of the total idiocy and dysfunction of Adam Silver and his horrible leadership. The NBA is by far the worst run league of the four major sports.

Nothing anti-free market about it: the NFL already has had such restrictions in place for who knows how long... Rightfully so, too.

I still would've taken Veesaar. We actually Need some redundancies at the 4-5 positions,

So would I.
